Title: Atlas of the Irish Revolution ~ New sourcebook
Post by: skirmisher on 29 September 2017, 09:28:51 PM
Hi, in case any inter-war gamers are interested, I thought I would share this newly published book I've just purchased: The Atlas of the Irish Revolution.

http://atlasirishrevolution.ie/ (http://atlasirishrevolution.ie/)

It is massive and full of maps and photos covering wide aspects of the revolutionary period 1912-1924, including WWI, 1916 Rising, the Irish War of Indpendence and Irish Civil War.

Some tactical battle maps are included e.g. Dromkeen Ambush 1921 and Battle of Kilmmallock 1922, but also ones showing British Army deployment in 1921 and IRA brigade areas. Note: it is an a multi-faceted history so military aspects are only one of the many themes examined.

Might be one to request from your library service, as source for scenario inspiration! I bought a copy for 59 euro. I just need to figure out where I can store it ("We're going to need a bigger bookshelf..." :-) )

Sample contents
Military Dimensions (http://atlasirishrevolution.ie/9/)

Cheers.

Thanks for the tip - ordered. Cork University Press direct seems like the best way to get a copy.
