Another stab at painting the inner circle of a fantasy/horror/pulp serpent cult, using Reaper, Forge of Ice, and a random giant snake figure:

Second time I've done a lot like this, little happier with the more restrained coloration on the snakes this time around.

The FoI priestesses are Eurayle and Sthena.

The Reaper gorgon is Medusa, of course.

The giant snake is just called Snake, and is absolutely not doing a musical number with any random orphans it runs into.

Very cool paint-job on the snake! :-*

Minoan Snake Priestesses? Don't think I've seen figures for those before. Nice work on them and the various snakes, the patterns really bring them to life (well, not really 'really', luckily).

They're from Forge of Ice up in Alaska. He's a pretty steady poster up on the Pulp subforum here, and has a biggish range of figs inspired by ERB's Pellucidar stories (amongst other things). Good stuff overall, and those two are some of his best IMO.

I'm rather fond of them myself :)
I keep meaning to post something to the Fantasy page, but in my head my stuff is all "Pulp Lost World", and doing two different self-promotion threads seems... self-indulgent.
I love the color choices on the priestesses - the rich red looks bloody and decadent all at the same time.

Eh, I got you covered. There's a third and final lot of figs with these two in them headed to the general Pulps (or maybe Cthulhu) board when I get them done. One of the reasons they're such good figs is their cross-genre utility, after all.

They're pretty similar to the first batch I did way back when, although I went a little darker overall this time. Debating on whether to go blonde or redhead with the last pair. I have a weakness for brunettes (thanks, Sue) but variety is good too. :)

The girls who modeled for the sculpts were a redhead (one arm up) and a brunette (snake across her shoulders), so maybe split the difference and paint one of each...? :D

Beautiful painting!

Hmmm. For some reason painting the figs to match the original models feels vaguely wrong to me. Disrespectful, I guess? They agreed to work with the sculptor. They didn't agree to have some random nitwit on the internet trying to paint his sculpts to match their actual appearance. If it happens by accident that's one thing, but pursuing it deliberately, I think I'll pass on - especially since the plan is make the models part of a slightly salacious stage show lot for pulp gaming.

You should add this one.

What range is she from?

Seconded. Don't know that one. Not as well executed as the FoI figs IMO, but still an interesting take on the subject.
That poor snake looks rather uncomfortable being used as a metaphorical fig leaf, though. :)
Oh hey, here's another candidate from Reaper's Dark Heaven range.

Missed these Dark Fables figs until just now too.

Everybody loves serpent cultists, don't they? :)

Thanks. For a company that appears to specialize in selling high-end resin minis, their site is remarkably thin on painted catalog photos and kind of a pain to browse.

I love those Dark Fable figures - I keep meaning to add a bunch of them to my collection, but I know they'd just sit unpainted... :(

Oooh, they'd be always the first to paint in my queue... :D
