Title: Some middle-eastern clash (with Syria in mind)
Post by: Father Primus on 31 October 2017, 07:15:45 PM
Just some photos from our small-scale battle. One of the many cityfights in the opening stages of Syrian civil war. SAA/police forces attack rebels from two different routs, kill some and force them to withdraw without any gains though (neither roadblock, nor petrol station are captured). Policemen also suffer very heavy casualties - near half of which as prisoners. SAA soldiers took only some light wounds, but showed serious lack of morale. Tank lost its main gun to the well-aimed recoilless rifle shot)

As others have already said - great looking table :D

How do you make the roads?

Thanks!

Roads are made from spare wallpaper sheets, left from my flat renovation :D

Rules are homebrew with emphasis on random initiative, that can be influenced by leaders presence. The earlier unit activates - less it can do. Units, that activate last, have more action points to enhance their performance this turn. But they can become battered by the time of their activation))

WOW!  :-*

I really like your table!

May I ask what are the two black squares I can spot on the table?

Really lovely miniatures, not really taken by the table. It seems more a wasteland than a middle east suburb. I think there are too many conflicting style of buildings and not even a single tree. Look weird! But these troops...  ;D The T-55 is a work of art.

I hope, next time we will prepare more carefully)

Black squares are BF arabo-israeli objective markers - Syrian flag/black flag))) Such lucky coincidence that syrian government uses old colors of Arab Republic.

well not that a coincidence... considering the flags of Syria, Iraq and Egypt are variations of the UAR theme...  lol

Nice looking table! Good to see gaming going on in the Russian Federation, too! Figs look awesome!

Very interesting decision-making your rules require of their players. I like it when the players are constantly called on to make choices. Makes them feel involved in the game.
