Title: Pulp in the Snow - Mounties and Bootleggers
Post by: Sunjester on 17 November 2017, 08:41:27 AM
It's been a while since I did anything with this project, so I thought it time to get the figures on the table again. It's a three-player scenario with American and Canadian patrols encountering each other whilst a gang of bootleggers try to get a lorry loaded with booze across the table. The rules are The Men Who Would Be Kings using the skirmish scale (half sized units).

I played this a couple of days ago with Jim and Martin, we played the scenario twice in an evening  and we had a hoot! More pictures on the blog http://grahamsgaming.blogspot.co.uk/2017/11/winter-war-192-part-9-bootleggers.html

What a wonderful idea for a game.  I may have to steal, I mean borrow your vehicle ideas.

Very fun. Especially because I am currently painting the US minis on your board. I really like the scenario.

Great stuff! I really enjoyed your report. I must paint my Mounties one day.

Shame the mounties didn't get their man... since... they always do.

Interesting scenario. Looks like you are always going to be between a rock and a hard place. You did well the second time.
I don't know the rules but it rather sounds as if the activation dominates the outcome?

Vagabond - It does, but not as much as with Dan's other rules, Lion/Dragon Rampant or The Pikeman's Lament. All unit types have a "Free Action" (automatic action), if they chose to do that they do not roll, they pass automatically. In this game all the units had Fire as their Free Action. Obviously they need to have maneuvered themselves into range first!
