We played the historical scenario from the new supplement and it proved to be and interesting game for both sides. The Germans have to balance moving fast and hard, against their low BR, while the US player has to tough it out against an enemy with some serious firepower. This would be the first game in a mini campaign between my German forces and the US Airborne of our playtester Vincent.

As it was, the Germans played it too cautious and the early arrival, and escape, of the British supply column hit them very hard on their BR. The Germans did manage to push forward in a very precise and well supported two-pronged assault that captured the ruined warehouse, with very few casualties while inflicting quite a few on the US Airborne defence, but the BR loss from the escaping trucks cost them very dear, and as they finally got to engage the second line of US defenders, they broke their BR and retreated.

Having pulled all high numbered chits, the Germans simply couldnt breakthrough, although all game the US had felt that it was them on the losing side, especially with both 57mm AT guns were quickly silenced, but the eventual halt and retreat of the germans was of great surprise to them.

Really good fun scenario, very different for both sides, and one we will have to play again.

Very impressive (as always!)
How do you get shots in so low, is it just using a phone?

Looks cool - are the dutch houses scratchbuilt?

Exactly that... ;)
I believe it was you guys posting another AAR that had me commenting on the fact that the terrain was so spot on. The same goes for these pictures. It's all so perfectly Dutch, as opposed to so many French or German tables posing as Dutch terrain, while it really is not.
Many kudo's for your efforts; the terrain is marvelous(ly Dutch)! 8) (with maybe as the only exception the bridge; we don't have (much) quaried stone, so most small bridges in this era are either concrete or steel ;) ).

Yes... couldn't find my canal bridge... :(

Houses are all paper and card built by a chum based on real buildings around Arnhem and Oosterbeek.
Pics taken with my Canon Eos.

Lovely stuff :-* :-* :-*
Painting is stunning
20mm? I am sure I ask you this every time you post but I am always amazed by your painting skill on such small scale stuff

Great stuff.
To my mind there is no better recommendation for a scenario than when a side is following a plan under pressure in the belief they are losing, but then suddenly realising they have actually won. Those are always the games that stick in the memory.

I have one in the pipeline for Piers next year, a proper Dutch one (you know what I mean Daeothar).
Yup, 20mm.

Cool; colour me curious then... :)
