What are everyone's thoughts on this? I think his illustrative pictures make a strong case.

I think this has been discussed before...but it's a rather silly article.  You're never going to sway somebody to like something just because you do - by essentially writing an exceptionally longwinded version of "because".

I could write a similar article bemoaning the lack of miniature wargames based on the 1980's cartoon G.I. Joe...because I like G.I. Joe.  It's completely irrelevant if people don't like G.I. Joe the way I do.  It comes across as just a bit of whining "why don't people like what I like..." kind of thing.

I think, in the photos, both the 28mm and 6mm look good.
But, he does prove his point. The 6mm look more powerful and realistic.

It reads like a more long winded version of STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE!

I'm sure we had a 3 or 4 page thread about this a month or so ago, But yeah, Each to their own and everything, just don't be such a smug tosser when you're trying to sell an interest to others.

I must admit I didn't finish the article.  However...

I'm only a painter so probably not qualified to comment on the gaming debate 6mm versus other sizes.  I personally haven't seen many examples of well painted 6mm.  Recently though I saw Steve Dean's 6mm Sudan and, well, they look fantastic to me.

Smallest figures I've painted are Copplestone 10mm.  Wouldn't mind having a go at 6mm, just to see how they paint up, but there are so many great figures to paint in so many sizes.   ::)

Anyway, I did read in his article some of the comments against 6mm.  Just seems to me part of a general trend now to criticise what others are doing.  Personally I don't mind what others enjoy to paint/game .  Any genre; any size/scale.   ::)
