Title: Star Wars Armada: still alive? (UK)
Post by: JamesValentine on 05 December 2017, 12:16:08 PM
hey all.
I've recently been watching allot of videos on YouTube about Star Wars Armada and looking at some goreous repaints on google and thought I'd go have a look at prices.
now I know it was quite (or VERY) expensive when released but I'm noticing allot of stores online simply have 0 stock or very little stock and the starter is close to £100 with ships/squadrons being close to £20-50 each.
on amazon I've seen starters going for up to £400.

now I know FFG are useless when it comes to supply and demand. in fact their attitude to supply is just none existent and they are happy to see global sales for a product stop dead.
But its been a while now so surely stocks should be more consistent right?
is it no longer a system they have interest in?
is it a system the gaming community have no interest in?

I doubt I could play it at the prices charged. but I'd love to have a handful of ships just to paint up.
any info?

I agree completely about the costs  :-[

In the end I bought the various Rogues and Villains expansions - the shuttles, Falcon, Ghost etc. I have the base set and a couple of bigger ships, but I generally can't bring myself to pay the prices they're asking. Given the huge boxes they come in, it seems like I'm paying for air more than anything else :?

No idea about the gaming side of things or how well it's doing, but it doesn't seem to be high on FFG's todo list, especially with Star Wars legion just released/coming out.
