Title: Hunter Killer
Post by: uti long smile on 15 April 2009, 09:31:37 PM
A toy from the new terminator film ripe for conversion. Retails at $19.99 apparently. Not sure what size the terminator at the side is - I think 3.75".

More details of the full range here - which may be potential SPOILERS of the film:

Piccy isn't working for me, is it the silver thing on tracks that I saw on the internet the other day?

the H-K is the flying machine from the start of the first film

looking at the toys, there appears to be little difference between the T-RIP and the T-700 other than the paint job... the T-600 is too big as well... if the T-RIP is supposed to be the Resistance Infiltrator Prototype, why is the T-600 a good foot and a half taller? I like that the T-600 has the plastic skin mentioned by Kyle in the first film and seen in the series, but if it's that tall, it would never fool anyone at all, never mind get close enough before people spotted the plastic skin... and yet the prototype is human sized....  :?

A few piccies of the flying H-K and the T-1 here (http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t50/Whiskyrat/Terminator%20Salvation/). EM4 minis for scale.

Not great photos - snagged 'em with my mobile. ::)

It's a fold up reversible gaming "poster" from the AT-43 starter set (Operation Damocles).

Is the T-1 supposed to be so big?

Would make a nice machine of destruction, anyway.... I also kind of fancy the thought of wearing the mask and the power-fist with my Skynet tee... while playing a force of terminators...  :D (I know.... I'll get my hat....)

I haven't seen the latest film (that is saved for Monday evening) but from memory of the third film the T-1 is about 1.5x the height of a man.

I plan to use it as a HK Tank as seen in the 2nd film. ;)

Heh... just followed up on my thoughts from before.... ordered the mask, the fist, a HK, and 2 4" T-1's.

Funny thing is, I painted 8 terminators a couple of weeks ago without having in mind that the new film was due to come out right now....

Juuust waitning for the e-invoices....  :D  ;D  o_o

@Argonor  lol

I bought 20 EM4 Robots at Salute after watching Season 1 of the Sarah Connor Chronicles and then realised that as the film was coming out, I could/should snag a bunch of the toys before they disappear.

I will pick up a 2nd T-1 when they re-stock and a few of the RAFM USX Drones for mini-Flying HKs tomorrow at Games Expo.

Ah - yes, the RAFM drones.... need to consider some of those, too....

Also the nightmare robots and runaway robots here could be used:

I considerd the Nightmares last week when I placed an order for two packs of Babylon's Burning Cultists.

Interesting poses - they remind me of the old RAFM Skelbots.

Any idea how they scale with EM-4/Copplestone?

Nah... but I think Westphalia Chris has some in his Skynet force.... I do not remember which thread contains the link to the pics, though....  :?

The only one I can find is this one: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=462.0

It contains some great scratch builds and the RAFM Skelbots.

Thanks to Dewbakuk I managed to snag 2 of the 7" Terminator 2 tanks. :)

And having just seen the movie I've been thinking that I need a squad or two of T-600s.

Jotun from Hasslefree looks the part but is way too big.

Any suggestions anyone?

I was thinking off getting some GW Necrons and GW catachan jungle fighters and swopping arms/legs/half heads etc.
Must be somewhere on ebay to buy them cheap

A word of warning, Necrons are huge. Their arms and legs are much longer than human (Catachan) ones. I've seen some nice conversions where the legs and arms have been cut down and reposed but just cut-and-shunting doesn't really work.

Stedley old bean?

Take a look at my thread on this very topic, I went for Doug's stuff through E4M and mix/matched troopers with robots, the effect is quite nice.

HK's from Toy's are us is a good bet, bought two.

I've also got a little something something coming from australia which will definately grace the terminator gaming table, oh and a few T1's as well to use as smaller HK tanks.

Nice.

Hello snakeboy
I'm trying to track down a couple of the T1s at the moment. I liked your EM4 stuff, I thought about using GW stuff just for the ease of cutting and glueing.
I saw some Necrons that had been straightened up by giving them necks and they look pretty good. I didn't realise they were so bloody big!
Title: Re: Hunter Killer

I know what you mean but you end up with having to use catachan action men which aren't great figures really. I've swapped out robot legs with trooper legs and then gs'ed up the rags etc... Have two infiltrators on the table to paint so will get them done so you can see what I mean.

Re: necrons, yup, they are pretty hunched up as models, they end up towering over most things after a visit to the chiropractor.

With regards to T1's a fellow LAFFer sourced me two from the states and I've got them coming through as soon as he pulls his finger out and pm's me! ;)

I may only need one as I've got one of those HK tanks coming as well so if you're interested I'll bear you in mind.

Vyper.

They are about the right size to convert to something like the Dragonflies from the movie Avatar for 28mm.

Nah got that covered with blackhawks/apaches and some VTOL conversion kits, much nicer and giving that old nam nod we're all looking for with stuff like this rather than built by robots! :D

So far i've restrained myself from buying any - normally i'd be buying crateloads, and this would be my big new project for 2010, but.....

.....already have a new project (for me at least), and it is likely to take up my expenditure for the rest of this year.

OK....I give in.....I managed to last 36 hours from posting that comment, and then bought 5.

They will now all be stored in my games room, until such a time as I come across them in future years, and remember why I bought them.
