Early on a cold October morning villagers from the outlying settlement of Pryp'yat arrived in great distress about foreigners spotted north of the Dnieper. The headman claimed that he thought at first they are Northman from the West, but he did not recognize their garb.
Within an hour my Prince Sviatoslav I assembled his best men along with a contingent of warriors to meet these foreigners. Sending scouts ahead for intelligence the outriders returned to the main force as my Lord arrived close to the South shore of the Dnieper. They informed my Prince that they could not understand the language of the foreigners, and although they looked like the raiders from the West, they also didn't... However they did catch enough of their language to understand that they called themselves the Anglish-Danes.
Looking to the sky, clouds began to roll in and darken. As the men began to take their positions my Lord was seen to give a rare smile... for the snows began to fall. Prince Sviatoslav assembled his men to repel the foreigners from the land of the Rus and make them pay for their intrusion....

In the end, Prince Sviatoslav lost some of his best men to the invaders, he was able to cross the river and push them back. We think we shall not see these Anglish-Danes back in the Land of the Rus anytime soon....

Thanks Mates! My friend Greg has done the minis with back bases, mine are the flamboyant ones. Originally painted up to be Jomsvikings, but work well here too since the Pagan Rus leadership and HG's are supposed to have been Swedes
