Gripping beast is fine for cavalry and use their central Asian auxiliaries
Check Wargames foundry Indian Mutiny

I think they would be fine from the time of Babur until mid-late 16th C, say early part of Akbar' s reign.

You might consider the Old Glory Eastern Renaissance Persians:

Good luck finding pics.

I agree... I have been sniffing around for some second hand but they are hard to come by and- as you point out- pictures of them either painted or raw are impossible to find.

Well , with OG it's like with Redoubt : some minies are good (very good sometimes) , some are not that good ! So i wouldn't like to go to OG at the moment

(As an exemple , i like their Sengoku Jidai Ashigaru , but not their Samurai)

I'm currently made a lot of research on the subject : the idea is to make the beginning of the Portuguese empire in Red Sea & Asia ... (Between 1500 & 1525)

I have a lot of books from Genevieve Bouchon (A french specialist) and from Sanjay Subrahimanyam ...

I have the Foundry Conquistadores & the TAG Spanish (It's sufficient)

I would like to do Muslim & Hindu Indians , with some Ottomans , Mamluks , Venitians allies ...

I'm looking at Foundry (Indians , Balouchis) , TAG (Ottomans) , OG (Indians antics bowmen) , etc ...

I already have a lot of GB Timurids , maybe i could use some of them ...

I have to find / choose minies that could be OK for the beginning of the 16th century ...

As an exemple , i think the FOUNDRY Indians with muskets or with swords (From Indian Mutiny by exemple) are not very good for that , i think i could choose the Baluchis instead ... But in this Indian Mutiny range i think the Indians spearmen are OK ... The cavalry seems to be OK too ...

This will be a long work project , and at the end i would like to have some buildings , and some boats (I have already a big carrack (90 cm long / 1/50e scale) and a caravelle)

Indus Miniatures does some minis that would be suitable. Their Hindu Militia (http://indusminiatures.mybigcommerce.com/categories/WAR-IN-INDIA-%252d-28mm/Indian-Hindu-Militia/) is good for early 16thC until the 18thC.  as is their irregular cavalry (http://indusminiatures.mybigcommerce.com/indian-cavalry/). Most of their range is better suited the 18th and 19th centuries.
