Title: Robin Hood figures
Post by: Poiter50 on 20 April 2009, 02:27:56 PM
Does Robin Hood fit in this section? Other than Foundry, who makes RH figures?

Blue Moon makes some...

There are a lot of Reaper Townsfolk packs that will fit the bill.

There is a very nice 36mm - 40mm range available at the moment complete with rules system. Right now I cannot remember the name of the manufacturers. As soon as I do I will edit this post ::)

The Miniature Service Center in California has the Vanguard Men-at-Arms Range (40mm Medieval Skirmish Warfare). They are 40mm, but Doug's figures are really very nice and oh so tempting!!

Try this site:
http://www.miniatureservicecenter.com/

more specifically
http://www.miniatureservicecenter.com/msc-tridentRobinHood.htm

All of the individual figures have been recently added. I am not quite as keen on these figures, but the original figures in the groups of 3 photos look fantastic!!

I have seen the Blue Moon ones in person, and I am really not impressed with the sculpts style.
Good Luck in your decision.
Regards,
Hitman

Oh, I do like those. I'm assuming they are out of production, they are 25s or 28s and perhaps to be found on Ebay but rarely? Thanks to all who have replied, I hadn't realised there were so many different ones available. And, yes, at my age, I still have my original Airfix Robin Hood figures, albeit somewhat battered these days.

The GW ones aren't that old, though they probably are OOP now. Search for Bertrand le brigand (the blister had a robin hood, a little john and a friar tuck). The jester came with a Bretonnian knight character and the other figures are bretonnian squires (except for the bretonnian sorceress of course).

We have also to mention a couple of figures distributed as freebies by Wargames Illustrated (a friar Tuck and a lady Marion I remember) sculpted by Mark Copplestone. I am not sure if both sculpted by him or not. Also I am not sure if there was any other suitable figure.

The jester you can now purchase separately as Jules le Jongleur in the "Collectors" section of the Bretonnian pages :)

I've now managed to pick up the GW not RH set as well as 30 Brettonian archers in one buy as well as another 22 already painted and I have (waiting for collection) a set inc the Sheriff, RH, LM etc in the UK. Seller wouldn't post to Oz so I have to wait for when my rellies visit other rellies in England.

Surely one of the UK LAFers could take delivery and post them on for you? I'd certainly be happy to do it. PM me if you want to set this up.
