The kit itself was poorly designed and pain to build. I almost gave up on it because of that. The whole thing was painted using a glazing technique. So instead of blending you allow the underpainting to change/adjust the final color of the thin layers you apply to the model. It worked pretty well. I still have some learning to do and practice.
