Looks interesting...when's it out?
-
Hope they aren't tinzy-winzy little miniatures.
I'd be very interested if we are talking battleships with a size of say 75 to 125 mms (3 to 5 inches).
But seeing as how the guy in the video was talking about having 2 factions with around 5 ships each in a starter box... be willing to bet these are going to be too small to get my interest.

Do you remember Tri-ang Minic Battleships? THATs the sort of size I would like to see them!

More Leviathans info here at their blog - http://monstersinthesky.com

I also would be VERY interested in this if it was larger scale than micro...
-
I believe the intended scale is 1/1200, which should make the larger ships about 6" in length or slightly more.

Aaaaahhhh!
Tis good news indeed!

Seen at Gen Con:
Eye witness said that the 4 hex ship was about 5" long. ;D
Given that is true, the above picture would indicate ships from 2.5 to 5 inches in length.
There is also a photo of the master running around, but I couldn't link to it.

This appears to be an almost sure buy for me. I really love the concept and the mini's appear to be quite nice.
Just what I need... another project... o_o

Lookoing at the partial hand in the pic for scale comparison, the model appears to be exactly the size most people here want. It looks big enough for loads of detail, looks easy to paint, but small enough to fit a small battle onto an average sized table.
Lets hope the price is affordable :)

Looks like the minis may be plastic, which would effect the price considerably.
And by the looks of the photo at Gen Con, it appears the game development is well advanced. I'm thinking they, more or less, only really lack the mini's to launch.

looks like someone was inspired by Hayao Miyazaki
-
... which is no bad thing :)

I like what I see of the mini! :-* ;)
But the game table gives me pains! Hex fields! >:( :'(
Oh no, please no! I really dislike game that use hexes, you need a special table or some special cloth or a flimsy paper sheet, it is just ruining the aesthetic appeal of gaming to me... :-[

I'm with Agis here. I love the concept, and the minis, but Hex based games can be a real pain... and very artificial. I'll keep an open mind, though. Some of the games I enjoy are still hex based.

On the other hand, it's easy to convert a hex-based game into a normal tabletop one (just discard the hex map, set up some terrain and measure ranges, movement and turning according to the deleted hexgrid) - the difficult part is the other way round!
(Hex-and-counter gamer here ;) )

I had just asked on another post about aeronef miniature size. Looking at that leviathan game picture the model size looks perfect.
Hmmm this will definitely be on my shopping list in the future.
Cheers

Seems the game will be released this year and may in the future include titanic dreadnoughts and carriers.
This game is looking really awesome. ;D

The blog states that the battleship is 5" long.
