Title: 20mm and 28mm doors and windows
Post by: Calimero on 01 March 2018, 03:59:50 PM

Does anyone know where I could find 20mm and 28mm scale doors and windows? And maybe some furnitures too...

I'm scrathbuilding some "backdrop houses" for pictures taking and/or table edge decors...

Cheers!

A number of the lasercutting companies do packs of doors, windows, and various sorts of furniture that are available separately.

Warbases do about eight sizes and styles of window; I have some of their diamond pane Tudor ones, they're nice.

Doors, Windows, and Shutters - note that each category actually has a whole bunch of sizes/styles/options available: https://warbases.co.uk/?product_cat=doors-windows-shutters

I've been using their diamond pane windows in my recent ECW buildings:

I've ordered regularly from Warbases in the last couple years, their service is always fast and they're super responsive to custom requests and queries. They could probably do you some 20mm resized windows, for example.

4Ground also do various window and door packs, although nothing in bulk like Warbases: https://www.4ground.co.uk/building-materials-and-add-ons

Part of the reason I bought a 3D printer was for parts like these - depending on how much you want to order, it can actually work out to be cheaper in the long run

If you want metal for your doors & windows, instead of MDF, try Empress Miniatures (workshop section)

We sell some resin doors.

I also have a range of windows, but they are not in production yet.

I use Grandt Line S scale for my builds. Not the cheapest but they look good.

This. They have a great array of O-scale construction frilleries. I ordered a substantial amount of plastic frames from them which I still use for all kinds of project. They are plastic so they work best for polystyrene builds.

Thanks all!

I’ll have to check the dimensions of the windows and doors slits I’ve done on my building. They might be a tad small to fit pre-existing mdf or plastic windows...  :?

Sally 4th also has a stack of different windows and doors as well as other bits for scratchbuilding including laser cut tiles, embossed plasticard, photo realistic cover sheets etc on our 'Builders Yard' page.
