Title: Single Turret Austin Armoured Car.
Post by: tin shed gamer on 05 March 2018, 06:46:44 PM
Well this is a bit embarrassing. ;D

A few people asked me last year if I'd make a single turret Austin rebuild. So I thought what the Hell . So I made one and it's on the casting list for the WW1 range (although it's more of a late to post war car).
As it turns out . That's a lie..
Just dug out some of my unfinished buildings for my son to have a crack at.He's found this one inside. The plastic is starting to yellow, So the God's only know when I made this one!

I'm definitely loosing the plot.
This topic came up as failing to post. ( damned thing didnt show up at all on the board)So I re wrote it and re submitted now.Ive ended up with duplicate threads.
So I'll pm the mod and asked for one of them to be removed.

No Lon,
Just the ghost in the machine.
Ignatieff,Kindly offered to take a cricket bat to the other thread,But apparently it upped and disappeared all on its own ???
Hammers,
The original build idea was as a result of the train photograph
It's slightly different from other people interpretations(war gaming models). As I didn't use the illustration of the front.Because after a conversation with Cuprum,On armoured cars .It occurred to me I need to alter my search parameters.
So Came across a slight different version with a split shield .(second photo) Which makes more sense as Austins drivers tended to prefer to dive with the screen plate down ,when they weren't in direct contact with the enemy. It'd be exceptionally time consuming to raise and lower a full width screen given the location of the hull mounted machine gun.

I've just given it away.
There's already one with 1st corps for casting. Which will either be in the Follies,or the WW1 ranges. Not sure if its released for Salute or Partizan.(on account of me not listening to that bit  :D)
