Thought I'd post some pics of my ongoing Rats project. Figures are Perry plastics, Stuart is by Warlord.

Can‘t see no pictures :-I

Fixed that for the OP, hopefully. The pics now show for me. PanzerLeader, if you get your image URLs from the GoogleGroups spot where they are hosted, you'll need to
a ) remove everything after the "jpg" and
b ) change the https to http.
Take a look at your message code by using the modify button for clarity.
Great painting, in any way! Been doing a bit of Med stuff myself recently and those Rats make a very compelling point for the Perry Plastics. And that tank turned out awesome, great take on the Caunter.

Afraid not, no pics showing here. :(
-
I can see the pics. Most inspirational. I have a Sicily 1943 ‘Airborne’ project that feels like it’s been embryonic for longer than WW2 - have yet to muster the courage to paint the minis. Look forward to seeing more.
-
No pics here either.
Do you need to be a member of Google Groups to see them?

I can see them and I’m not a member of Google Groups (whatever that is lol)
-
They must be very well camouflaged as I cannot see them either :'(

No membership apparently, but it might be a case of Google content being blocked by a scriptblocker? I can see them on Firefox for Android and Windows.

How annoying. Ive tried linking to facebook photos... can people see the pics now?

No show on Chrome on a stone age Nexus tablet.

Yes.
Very good, thanks.

Facebook pics come with their own issues. It seems the URLs for them can for some reason change over time, which doesn't affect looking at them on Facebook itself, but does break any exterior links.

I recall your project....whatever happened to it????
-
PanzerLeader, some nicely painted minis. I like how you have done the faces...perhaps too much white in the eyes and a tiny bit too big for my liking (people squint more in real life, especially in the heat of the desert) but well done!
One suggestion, remove that oversized radio antenna and replace with a piece of brass wire....it will look better ;)
What colors did you use for the uniforms??? It looks very nice.

They are NICE! The eyes and eyebrows make them look a bit like the 'Sons of Frida Kahlo Squad', but the uniform and equipment are spot on!
-
Yeah the antenna is a bit odd. I really should change it, you’re right, but there’s always something else to do, right? ;)
Edit: Forgot to mention colours. Base coat was Desert Yellow, washed over with Army Painter Soft Tone, then layered with Desert Yellow, Dark Sand and Light Sand. All Vallejo colours.

It’s paused. Definitely not abandoned. It’s one if particular historical interest to me so I’d been waiting for my painting to improve. It’s an unfinished project that’s in a display case, rather than a box :D
-
Personally I quite like the eyes. They work for me. I take it that fellow in the middle is off to find a quiet spot to do his business? :)

I think the eyebrows give them character. Some people paint the eyes in and forget the eyebrows which give their figures a sort of rabbit stuck in the car headlights sort of appearance like this :o. What colours did you use for the Caunter scheme please? I fancy doing some Honeys in the same style.
-
Great stuff.
Fiddly little devils to paint aren’t they? ;)
-
Who was it that painted these Perry D. Rats as Kings East African Rifles? For Somaliland campaign against the Italians?
-
Now I can see them
Fantastic work especially on the Honey love the weathering. Just the right amount for me.
Was that rhe Army Painter desert yellow you used?
If so, did you use the spray for a basecoat?

If I remember correctly, I think it was (all Vallejo) Desert Yellow, Sky Blue, and Dark Blue Grey but once they were on, I spent some time weathering and lightening the tones quite a bit.
Great stuff.

Yup. Fiddly but fun. You, of course, must shoulder at least some of the blame for these - your rats are first rate, and a literal inspiration. :)

No, all Vallejo. It was sprayed white to start with and then worked up from there.

Lovely work on the Rats and Honey, well done.
-
Ahh, here they are. Very well done on these chaps.
