Both are nice, but in the end the marines won me over. I like the colour scheme of the clothing/armour and the picture in the background (quite effective).

yep close one for me too but being a jarhead myself, semper fi and I love stargate

Really difficult one for me. They are really well matched and it took me a while to choose. In the end I went for the sailors as I love the sculpts so much and like the varied colors on them. The marines are a bit too much alike for me.

Tough call
The Sailors are suberb figures well painted
The marines are also well painted and beautifully set with the background etc
Nice work Gentlemen

No Never-Victorious Club membership for me! lol
The Marines put up a good fight, though - a bit of nice camo painting or a slightly brighter photograph and I might have been a goner!
I'll also put this down as the round where I actually started to apply some of what I'd been reading in those "how to take really good miniatures photographs" articles, and improved the quality of my entry photo dramatically. Plus, Pulp Figures are such awesome miniatures even a chump like me can make them look great.

Congrats, Wirelizard. I know I could have made the entry better, but this is one of the rounds where I wanted these minis just as they are for gaming. Just one of those trade-offs the LPL allows you to make ;)
Still, not sure even an improved marines entry would have beat your sailors, but its all academic now! :) Good luck in the next rounds!!
