Title: Brisbane Muster 09 - War on the Plains
Post by: Oberstleutnant Koenig on 13 May 2009, 12:32:47 PM
Hello All,

I thought I should share with you the game of Cavalry and Indians I put on for the Brisbane Muster that took place in Brisbane in April 2009.

The figures are all Britiannia Miniatures and they have been hidden away in a shoe box for about 15 odd years now. The muster gave me a chance to bring them out into the sunshine once again and give them a freshen up.

My Best Friend Mark helped me in the work of touching the figures up. Keeping me focused and  motivated for the four days before the Muster. Boy was that hard work!

I scratch built all the buildings and some of you would remember the watertower from my very first post on LAF.

We played a number of games, but the photos below were of the last game we had on that weekend.

The game was featured around an attack on a stage coach station. A small supply train of cavalrymen were at the station at the time of the assault and they aided the station-manager and his three hired hands defend the station.

Anyway, to the pictures.

Ahhh, Britannia Miniatures. I have fond memories of buying those figures many, many years ago when they were first released. Still some of the best versions of the plains Indians and US cavalry.

Wonderful stuff. It was a great looking game. Who won?

Sorry for not replying earlier, but I have been on the go with work committments that took me interstate.

Firstly, The rules we used were, "Lance and Sabre." A set of rules which I'm still developing.

The Muster was held in Brisbane, Australia. I actually work in Melbourne, but Brisbane is my home town.

Who won?

Just like in all good cavalry movies, just when the Indians looked like they would overpower the small garrison. In the distance was heard, the lone trumpet of the releif column.

The Defender threw 12 on 2D6, making the Indians withdraw.

I live in Australia and I would like to know where you bought your wagons from? Great looking buildings, pig pen etc by the way.
