Not an easy call at all.

The dapper little gent drawing a bead on the hatless detective was inspired by the Warner Brothers cartoon gangster Rocky:

"Shaddup shuttin' up...!"

Cool to see two gangster-shots against each other. I really like the sculpts of both entries and the paintjobs suit them very well. The left ganster in the first shot made me laugh with his terrific pose. Love the running pose! The paintjobs of the first one are nice and soft and I like the effect. The second entry on the other hand gets a very different effect with the darker and stronger shading and it works very well. Nice to see two different painting styles where both get excellent results.

Just thought I'd throw this in for us to ponder. From the competition rules thread (which we were all told to read before we started)...
Does a team have to be made up of one playable side of a wargame or could it made up by friends AND foes. For example, can I enter a "team" of werevolves AND witchhunters?
Sorry, that wouldn't be a team :) The only exception i could imagine, you've got 5 of werewolves and 5 of the witch hunters on the pic :)
I think we need a bit of clarification from the good Captain here. What's the situation with regard to this ruling? Does it no longer apply? Might alter some people's plans, depending on what the answer is. ???
Both are great entries, by the way.

D'oh!
Maybe I should change the title of my entry to "Ignorance of the law is no excuse!" :'(

Prof. overruled this somewhere during season 2, I believe.

:o
Talk about putting the Captain on the spot! lol
I say let it go... or at the very least, hand this hot potato over to the Prof.
-
Oh, I'm all for letting it slide. I'm not trying to get Heldrak's excellent entry disqualified or anything.
It's just that as an entrant myself, it would be useful to know for future reference which rules we have to follow and which ones we can safely ignore. ;) :)
-
Just change the name of the picture to "There’s no honours among thieves..." ;) :D
-
Ooooh blimey.
Thanks for that Plynkes... ;)
I must admit I was aware of that rule, but I've been turning a blind eye to minor contraventions providing there are at least 5 miniatures in a picture with some apparent thematic connection between them.
-
I think that's a jolly sensible attitude. Let us forget I brought it up.

not easy for me to vote .
I go for the ``Two against the mob`´ because you need some guts to show a close picture of the figures faces and they are very nice.

Thanks for the kind words, Grimm.
Maybe if I had your superb skills with terrain the good Captain wouldn't be mopping up the floor with me quite so badly...! :D
-
Great job on these two...nice shading effects and painting...
-
Phew! anybody get the license plate number of that truck...? :o :o :o
Now that it's all over, here are some individual shots of the boys...
