An awesome sight! So colorfoul armies! And so well-painted! And you had to choose one out of eight El Cids! Fantastic!
The whole table is a real eye-candy! And the monastery! Oooh!

Great lay out and cracking figures, it must have been a great game . I was looking forward to seeing Miss Loren in miniature btw , 😃 .

Nice one Roger, what a spectacle :-*
If you are looking for a different set of rules to try, I would highly recommend Soldiers of God, written by Warwick Kinrade for the El Cid period.

Thanks very much guys.
Dinthe din I always love your feedback.
Belisarius, Miss Loren is there, she is in the bckground of one of the El Cid bases about halfway through the post. Painted by Jerry for hsi army.
Lord Raglan, I will keep those in mind. For now we have just got a large section of our group to play a game without black powder and Hail Caesar agrees with most of them. Certainly one to consider though thank you.

Very cinematic report, and some beautiful work! I especially liked your El Cid model (reminded me of Charlton Heston) and this guy:
