Title: Wargaming show at Royal Arsenal, Woolwich
Post by: Dewbakuk on June 01, 2009, 09:28:19 AM
Was absolutely terrible. Worst I've ever been to!  :-[

Two traders, one participation game and a bunch of demo's. The only good thing was I hadn't traveled to it, I was there purely by accident. Didn't feel it was in any way worth my £5 entry fee.

Anyone else suffer this show?

The rugby was absolutely stunning. Warm weather, good company, plenty of beer. One of the guys who went has only been to football games before, he was very impressed to discover the guys walking round with beer coolers on their backs!

Final score was England 26 - 33 Barbarians. Great game, I was never really bothered about who won and was very impressed that England played the running game properly. Makes for a more entertaining match and isn't there usual style.

The one good thing from the show was a nice Wild West Board (even if it was a demo). I liked the counters used to show a reload and have stolen the idea for my  own games.

I had heard that it might be a small show - organised in a hurry as the usual show isn't being held this year.

Please share the info - what were the reload markers ?

That would have been useful wouldn't it?

They were bullets mounted on bases like the figures. Stand about as big as a 28mm fig and you don't ever forget about them. Looks good too as long as you get round topped ones. I discovered similar ones being sold in the museum gift shop for 60p each.
