The Fate of New France was decided (again), in 15mm.

Last time I posted a French & Indian AAR there, it was moved over here. Since I don't do skirmishes, Big Battalions seems right to me. But I posts it where I'm told.

I think here is fine with your "small" (in quantity of figures, not size!) battalions. Will be perusing in greater depth when time permits, a favored period of mine.

Then you may like this, our first French & Indian game with these rules, the Monongahela http://corlearshookfencibles.blogspot.com/2018/12/aar-monongahela-1755.html (http://corlearshookfencibles.blogspot.com/2018/12/aar-monongahela-1755.html)

Very interesting AAR . I must try Mr. Flint’s rules sometime , they seem a lot simpler than British Grenadier. Good to see they can be adopted for the FIW , keep posting. 👍

Thanks of for the link to the Monongahela. Another nice report.
Are the rules you are using intended for publication and sale or just a local guys work being shared? For now, I'm sticking with Rank and File with appropriate modifications.
Still trying to find a set of rules that can handle 42 figure units - meantime, I play them at half strength seven stand units (3 figures per stand obviously). Bill Protz's Drums Along the Mohawk just seemed too cumbersome. Habitants and Highlanders not quite right, either - though a good set of rules.
Closing in on finishing up my FIW figures - when done there will be 28 units as mentioned above, 7 being native americans.

I have used Brother Against Brother, the F&IW variant rules for games for quite some time. Those are skirmish rules, so the 40+ man units you have may not work. Many of my units number 30-40 figures, but I use squads of 10 (sometimes 12, modifying the rules) with these rules. There is a company sized unit option in these rules to combine 10 man units into a larger unit. Command radius rules apply so that becomes a concern to monitor during a game, especially with unformed units.

The rules are by Keith Flint, designer of Honours of War and are available on his download page http://honoursofwar.com/page/downloads (http://honoursofwar.com/page/downloads)
The Simple Seven Years War Rules are near the bottom.
I suspect the final cut may be published. I like Honours of War. However the Fencibles are moving in the direction of very simple rules. These rules could be used with large units (40+ figures) if you work out ranges and movement. Flint uses 16 figures. Units that take 4+ hits are in trouble. They rout after the 7th hit. Hits can be rallied off if you get away from the enemy.
