Title: Plaster WWII house
Post by: Sangennaru on 05 June 2009, 09:48:18 AM
Speaking of plaster, I've found some old photos of a project I did (And I didn't finish) around 3 years ago (I was 16 so please don't be cruel on judgement! :))

it's a 20mm house, made ONLY in plaster and a small piece of balsa wood, as you can see in the WIP photos...

for the bricks, I just scratched out a part of the plaster to reveal another part, and I sculpted the bricks... :P

this is the first floor... I starded making photos since here...

And there I did the second, completing the first (filling some holes from the parts...)

and then I primered it... as you can see, I forget to put the windows, cause I was young and impatient (now I'm only impatient.. lol lol lol)

that is a closeup of the wall... I LOVED this technique, and I used it in other works.... and I'm still using it! :P

soon I'll post the painted one! :P

And those are the images of the painted house! :) It was one of my first works.... :)

First I gave a white primer to the house's roof! :)

and then the red paint (whith a glossing lighter part on the center - fantasy style!)

and then I finished... the floor was painted whith some washes and highlights and stuff like that... :)

I love how the roof color turned out.

The only thing I am unsure of is the exterior wall color. If it is representing a modern house, the dark gray (even charred) seems a bit dark.

I was young and unexperieced... I was just trying some colours... for shure it is completely wrong colour, but... I think I trashed this house several years ago... I just found this photos in a folder! :)

Ah, the joys of misspent youth. :)

The details are amazing and if this was your work years ago, then I can only imagine how your work must look now.

lol! I have not so much time, so I can't make a project everyday... :P I'm also quite fast-learning, so each project uses a lot of totally different techniques, and most of them are not so good...
by the way, I hope I will post something new in the near future! :)

Great detail! The roof is really nice. How was the plaster to work with?

Also, is that something do to with heat and/or gases in the first pic that you've butchered for some square paper?  lol

I suspect that was overzealous use of PVA...

PVA? what's that?

@ Shroedinger: PV=NkT is the best poem of the universe... At that time I was just studying the bases of physics, and now I'm really studying at the university (and tomorrow... arh, in 9.30 hours, I've got a test!)...

thanks everybody!

I used normal plaster, the one used for.... well it is the rapid one, dunno the name, i'm sorry.... I have to say, I have developed the technique a bit more, right now, and I can make something better... unfortunately, I've lost somewhere in my house the last my project, so... you have to wait the next one:P
