Title: A few buildings from wall sections, and balsa!
Post by: FreakyFenton on 27 January 2019, 09:44:30 PM
Just a few ruins, abandoned or destroyed houses and patchwork shelters or posts I suppose. I had them in mind for Tabletop games, some did come out a bit too big though.

Looking forward to feedback and opinions from you guys! :D

Second picture is reminiscent of the old Airfix outpost. Very nicely done.

Cheers Adam! I did look for inspiration on old box art and in various books that lay about!  8)

Cool stuff! Love the crumbling brickwork.

I see you cut down the balsa here and there to simulate aging and wear. Did you also take a wire brush to it, to stress the wood surface and bring out the grain? I just recently discovered this technique, but also that I need to be careful not to overdo it.

Cheers PhilB!

I do at times. For instance the planks of the upper floor on the outpost with the grey walls got a bit of the brush treatment. But as with everything, less is often more. That's a good guide to go by. Or as long as you're happy with it.  :D
