:o Looks great Malamute!
-
Gorgeous. Absolutely gogeous. :-* :-* Why the small picks? Re-size them to 800 wide so we can have a real froth.
-
Brilliant Nick. :-* 8)
Almost good enough for someone to bring out a range of miniatures to go with it.... ;)
-
Wonderful stuff, would love to see some close ups.
-
WOW ! COOL ! :-*
-
:o :o :o :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D o_o o_o :-* :-*
-
Bloody Hell.
That's damned impressive, Nick.
I'm wondering if it needs a couple of palm trees or cacti? :D
Really looking forward to seeing this in the flesh in October.
Right - I'd better start serious work on my F&IW board, or you're going to steal the show, you b*gger! ;) lol
-
Wow!
That's absolutely smashing!
I think you need more peons though... hint... ;)
-
That is great! Absolutely gorgeous scenery
-
Great town. Do you have any close up pictures :)
-
Lovely stuff, a bit closer for these old eyes would be nice :D
-
Thanks for the feedback chaps.
Its taken over a year to get them all built. I started with the church last april 08.
I am about to start work on the Governors headquarters which will have a barracks section, then some smaller peasant houses and corrals to place on the outskirts of town.
There are close ups of each individual model as they were built if you scan back through the Old West board over the last year.
-
What table size do you intend using? They will look superb on any. And, yes, where is that black masked man?

At present a 4ft x 4ft table should be enough, but eventually a 6x6ft table :D
The masked bandit is on the painting shelf.... ;)

I should look on the Old west board more often. These are stunning. :o :o I agree with everyone else - more pics please.
-
Agree with all of the above. Stunning! :-*
One question though - do you leave on permanent display or do you have to store away? Just wondering as I hate building stuff then having to put it in the cupboard.
Stored away in boxes in the loft... :(
Mrs Malamute does not like things on display ;)
-
Great.
-
Amazing. I wish I had the same for LOTOW.
-
Very very Nice! :-*
-
I finally managed to find a local supplier of foamcard to make some buildings out of.
Now I am going to burn it, and stop kidding meself.
Top job Nick, these look almost real. :o :-*

Thats the beauty of trick photography, in reality they look crap lol lol lol
-
So you say. ;)
But I can still make a foamcard bonfire and do the pygmy dance, right?
Right...?

Right...?
Sure, so long as I can burn all my rubbish attempts at painting on said bonfire of vanities
-
Terrific project, Malamute, I'm deeply impressed ...
:o :-*

Send me the foamcard and I'll send you something that will burn better without carconogenic fumes for your bonfire
-
That's mighty impressive, Nick. I like that a lot!

Inspiring stuff :-*

Know what you mean, I am even relegated to under the stairs to paint ;)
Great terrain there, look forward to seeing it with your figure range in situ.

Amazing! Simply amazing!
I had wondered, when I first saw the pictures, if the church was perhaps a resin building, from Hovels, or such, but then I read that you had built it as well! Superb! The whole town oozes character, and the whole set-up looks very playable - lots of rooftop shenanigans, as well as hiding out in courtyards if the need arises.
Brilliant!

It is the kind(genre) of tricks(things) that makes me me feel(smell) ridiculous with my small Californian hacienda lol lol

A true work of art!

Your Hacienda is a great model, and you built it very quickly. :)
The town has taken me over a year to build ::) And I am sure you don't smell ;)

Wonderful stuff ! and lovely details, they make them real ! I particularly like the big size of your buildings : they look very playable and they cry for long fire line units : a regiment could occupy them !!!

Crikey I have just been redoing mine and I thought they were coming out well and then I saw this! Very nice.

A question, Malumute, a question!
The fountain, in the lower-left in the big picture - how did you make it? Not the water itself - I'm guessing it's some sort of water-effect resin-type thing, and it's done really nicely - but the circular shape of the thing itself. I couldn't get a close look at it, but it looks like you have a model as the statue in the fountain as well. What did you use? And could you (please, please!) get it out of its hiding place in the loft to take a close-up picture? I'd really appreciate it!
And of course, as I said before, the town is AMAZING!
What's next?

I hope you do not mind me answering your question Mulletmute (lack of)

I believe it is this one from Hovels. IRC Malamute mentioned it on another thread.
-
Yes, that looks like the one.
Thanks, Svenn!

Mulletmute ??? lol
You are indeed correct. Hovels miniature and a jolly nice one it is too.
Whats next? The Governors headquarters which will be a long building with grander two storey section with some balconies.
Some more housing, some corrals and some peasnat huts for th outlying areas.
I want to occupy a 6ftx6ft area eventually. BUt as you know its a long process....
-
Somebody asked where I got my inspiration for the buildings. Here is a good artists impression of the town in 1836.

Its gonna be a mighty big table when its finished(in approx 30 years time...) lol
