Title: Plasticville houses of Combat Zone fame
Post by: Dewbakuk on 09 June 2009, 03:27:42 PM
I figured this would be a good place to post this although I'll also stick it into the trade section.

I went to Wargames Expo in Birmingham at the weekend and came across a very useful stand hidden away in a side room. The stand was for a store called Dark House Games and they are UK retailers of the Plasticville range!

www.darkhousegames.co.uk

I had a chat with the owner, who was a very nice and helpful guy. Apparently, like many of us, he found it incredibly difficult getting hold of the Plasticville kits. Every time a new kit conversion apeared in the Combat Zone Chronicles he'd go off looking and rarely found any, pretty much my story too :) Unlike me however, he decided to do something about it and set up a business importing the kits from the US. He tried Germany but they weren't interested in making the 0 scale items.

So, for all those like me who wanted to make some of the Combat Zone items, it's now easy to do. And for those considering the new Brigade Games 50's post apoc... your terrain dreams have been answered.

Good to know.

Yes, we Germans are a bit protective about our scale. German 0 Gauge scale as definded by Märklin was 1:43, while US 0 Gauge scale as defined by Lionel is 1:48.

Both scales simply don't fit very well, so you won't get any German importer for US 0 Scale

Sounds very good, There are still a few building I'm interested in.

I hope he's also looking into the lionelville buildings. Those are even harder to get then Plasticville, but also look very nice

If I can find some more information about those, I could send him an email, but they are even difficult to find online (even pictures)

though bandit86 was nice enough to post a link last time:

The only only store I found that sells them either does not exist any mroe, or their website is just offline...

O and the K-line models are also nice but hard to get :p

(editted to add K-line)

Ditto.

Good communication, well-packaged & reasonably priced.
