Does anyone know something about men's ties from the period?
I'm especially thinking of colour schemes, and the like, as minis most often come either without or with a tie or a butterfly
- but what was likely to be seen; stripes, dots, single coloured??
Would a fashionable man use a tie that corresponded to his suit, or would he more likely wear a stark contrasting colour (i.e. pink or red with a dark blue suit and the likes...)?
Most photo's from the period are b/w, so they don't help much :D

Do a search on Ebay. There are generally vintage ties for sale. That will give you an idea of period colors and patterns.

Damn! I think I still have a few of those in the wardrobe! Have they gone out of fashion? The memsahib will be displeased.

I think I have a few that fits in, too.... Tie fashions seem to go in circles like everything else
