I need some french waitresses and a cafe owner in 28mm scale for a WWII french cafe.
They can't be too big, so the Black Scorpion bargirl is out. No Reaper etc.
Any Ideas?
:?:
-
And the fallen Madonna with the big boobies?
And Leutnant Gruber in his "little tank", too?
Sorry, can't help. But I'd love to know what you're up to.
-
I will say this only once...... Vive la resistance!
-
try shadowforge code mm111
-
Not exactly what you want but in the Foundry traders and townspeople packs there are bar keeps or shop keepers which might just do?

Westwind Victorian Harlots? There's a couple in there that I use for 'generic female civilians in many periods.
-
I need a not-too-big French waitress too...
Oh, wait... A miniature?
Never mind.
-
I don't know about the waitresses, but will the bartender figure from my new Civilians pack work for the owner? I'm not sure what look you're going for so I'm just tossing random ideas out.

Oui, oui, tous les francaises étaient en la résistance! Collaboration, qu'esque c'est? Pas en France.

I can't help with the French side yet, but I've been working on the Germans.
There was some talk about these characters on the Artizan mailing list a while back. Hopefully they will appear at the back window asking us to listen very carefully soon.
A couple of Artizan models that would make a great General Von Klinkerhoffen and a Colonel Von Strohm.
Von Klinkerhoffen:

Von Strohm:

For the Other Germans, I have a Foundry model I use for Lieutenant Gruber, the hand on the hip guy from this pack:
http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/collections/WW2/2/6.asp
Also I use an AGN 222 Armoured Car as the closest thing I found to the 'Little Tank with the Big Gun':
http://www.agnminiatures.com/html/germany.html
Her Flick I don't have too close a model for, the best I've found is this one from Artizan:
http://www.artizandesigns.com/details.asp?code=plp014
Next month I'm going to pick up this pack from BAM that has a nice Von Smallhausen:

Nice collection there Revford!
-
Cheers, I've been working on this one for a while now. :)
Other ideas, that I've not gotten hold of yet, the closest I've found to Helga would be one of these from Pulp Figures:
http://www.pulpfigures.com/catcode.php?range=Wierd%20Menace&code=PWM&number=2&custID=8233114401173439919
None of them a quite perfect for her though.
Bolt Action do some nice Resistance fighters:

While West Wind have a pack of French Civilians that would be perfect for wandering around Nouvion:

I like the Westwind civvies.
Any luck on Rene, Michelle and the rest of our French heroes? Not to mention the British guy posing as a French Gendarme (what was his name again?)

Officer Crabtree. :)

Here's what I'm doing:
I have Foundry and BAM Resistance fighters which I'm currently painting for Crossfire, I'll be putting my suggested rules up on my site once they're all painted.
These will be working with the British commandoes that I am also working on (1 company of RM commandoes done, 2 companies of Naval commandoes to come with kyaks)
I am about to make some WWII buildings for my Home Guard; the Bank, Jones' shop, the Novelty Rock Emporium, Church etc. and I thought I'd make a cafe for a Resistance HQ at the same time. I don't need the supporting cast, just Rene to be the resistance leader. The rest would be nice but are not strictly necessary.
I think I'll use Rich's bartender for Rene.
Once the resistance is done I'll build a German V2 or Radar base (or both) so the allies have something to raid.
Once this is all done I'll paint the last of my Germans and the remaining US figures, just some speciality packs for each side, and my Western Front forces are finished.
I hadn't planned to do all this so soon. Originally I was going to do the Home Guard because I already had the figures so I could go a month without spending anything. That was the plan, obviously I bought more commandoes and more French Resistance so the plan failed :)
However, since the WWII bug is still with me I will go with it while it lasts....
I expect to slide seamlessly into weird war 2 and already have some figures waiting. I was going to do Burma this year but that may have to wait as I think I'll be 'WWII'd out' after this lot is finished.
Should Artizan produce 'Ello 'Ello figures in the future I'll just add them to my pulp collection.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions!

Okay, I've tried ordering the townsfolk and the dockers from Rattrap and the postage on $20.00 worth of figures is $16.75.
Does anyone have these in the UK?
-
Try emailing Rich. I'm sure he can work something out.
-
I get my Rattrap stuff from Leisure Games, they don't seem to carry the models yet, but maybe they could help?

I just sent you a PM Matakishi. Still trying to get the store to accept small envelopes and not just packages (which doubles the shipping cost).
-
all sorted, thanks a lot Rich :)

There are some Resistance types here: http://www.victoryforce.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=VFM&Category_Code=RandC
A possible one for the brave girls of the Resistance? http://www.victoryforce.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=VFM&Product_Code=28035&Category_Code=RandC

Sadly the VF miniatures are too big, I've squeezed some into my US forces where they're ok with the BTD troops (just) but the Resistance fighters are all quite small, especially the Foudry ones.
My packet of figures arrived from Rich today!! Thanks very much Rich, and thans for the extra figure too :) :) :)
Sadly the barman is very small, even against the Foundry chaps and looks like a midget next to the BAM figures. Doesn't bode well for a charismatic leader (yes, Hitler was short, and Napoleon, I know, Time Bandits etc.).
I fear the search for a Rene continues.......

Hi, have you considered using the cook from this German Field Kitchen
(http://
Just a thought :)

I would suggest using the figures from Hasselfree Miniatures' Villager line:
http://hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk/range.php?range_id=22
The Barman, Barwench, and Strumpet would be particularly useful, but the Old Man, Old Woman, Bar Patron, and Children could all be used to help set the scene. I know that you were just asking about a waitress and bartender, but you know that you really need a strumpet too  ... and what a strumpet this one is!
(although the clothing could be fantasy or medieval, it seems like paint could stretch the usefulness of these figures into the 20th Century, maybe... :? )
-
Another option might be to adapt the Haitian civilians from Brigade Games Carribean Empires line:
http://www.brigadegames.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=BG-CEN002&Category_Code=BGHMCE&Product_Count=6
The figures could be painted as whites, or the figures could be painted as black and the place could be called the Cafe Hatian (or the Cafe Senegal, or the Cafe Madegascar, etc.). Definately a waitress in that pack, with a guy who could work behind the bar, and another woman who could sing or work behind the bar. The kids are just a bonus...
-
The field kitchen chap is pretty good but it's an expensive set just for the one figure. The Hasslefree figures are not suitable unfortunately.
I saw the Haitians the other day and nearly went for them but decided against it.
I will paint the 45 Adventures figure and he will do. I'll pad his base a little :)
Thanks for all the suggestions!
