Ran a Back of Beyond RCW game at the club with the Mad Baron leading his hordes over the frontier into Mother Russia, great game, report and photos on the blog.

Cracking! Those massed cavalry ranks are really impressive!

:o Who manufactures the mat?
-
Wonderful set up.
An excellent battle report.
If I ask a question,
why are some of your figures based 3 to a base,
others 2 to a base?
Love the whole look of game. :-*

Thanks for the nice feedback guys. I was really happy with the whole look of the game to be honest.
White wolf, not my mats but I will find out.
Marine0846 different numbers to bases is mainly for casualty removal and unit sizes. Units in the rules are between 6 and 10 figures the larger the unit the better in terms of its firing ability and its ability to accept casualties. Units begin to test when they reach 5 so clearly larger units are by definition more robust.
I have my reds able to be fielded as either 8s or 7s with the better naval troops and siberian rifles as units of 9. The majority of white troops are in 8s but some units are 9s as better quality. The first casualty of a unit is marked with a ring, once I have two casualties I can take a base of two off instead. When have three I can put the two figure base back and remove a three and so on.
Works for me.
