I know most LAFers don't post about Ancient subjects but I have some 28mm EIR Auxilla that I want to paint up to accompany my legions and I'm looking for painting tips/schemes? Anyone?

You can check out these guys for some nice colour photos in their galleries. They've been re-enacting Roman soldiers for nearly four decades so I'd imagine they've gotten most things figured out by now!

I cannot claim to be an expert on roman military uniform colours (I did study classical archaeology almost to BA level, but my expertise was more on greek temple architecture and the antonine wall), but I would suggest that safe choices are a deep red for legionary uniforms, and white (linen?) for auxilia.
Shields are a completely different issue - unless recent (last 10 years) research has shown otherwise, this is guesswork - few shields still having original colour survive to our days.
In all, I think the link archangel1 suggested is worth checking out, they must have done their research. At least the section on legionary equipment on their site looked good - didn't have time to check out the rest of it.

Have you tried asking/looking at the WAB forum (Warhammer Ancients)?
They have loads of stuff and some really nicely painted stuff too.

Not sure if it helps much but I painted one unit of my Auxilia in a dull mid to dark blue with rest in an unbleached linen colour. Iused WRG's Armies and Enemies of Rome, Concord's Imperial Romat War and the relenvent Osprey as guides.
I've found this blog very inspiring over the years:

Not only are there some nicely painted miniatures but there areseveral great terrain ideas and some wonderful artwork which is very amusing.
The WAB forum is also worth a visit.

They look really nice Auton, it'd be nice to see more of them.
