At one time or another everybody's had to struggle with a top-heavy mini that just keep falling over again and again. Usually it's a big metal mini in a dynamic pose mounted on a lightweight plastic slottabase. The best way to fix the problem is to add weight to the base, but just what's the best way to do that without adding unwanted height or messing with the aesthetic of your painstakingly-based minis? Check out this tutorial for a comparison of several methods and a photo-illustrated guide to solving the problem quickly and easily.

Great tutorial,
Yeah, I have recently had to add pennies to the bottoms of some of my plastics to keep them from falling over, two in some cases. I have yet to have problems with metal ones falling over. Guess my metal minis are not so dramatic..;)

I'm surprised the coin proved heavier than the lead shot ???
Which work out cheaper? I ask this because I was going to use 20mm washers as bases for skirmish games, but British pennies worked out cheaper, so I use those now. I'd toyed with adding lead weights to the few slottas I use, but might just use pennies instead.

Yeah, but the nickels cost 5 cents each! That's expensive.

Ah! Begging your pardon, but I wouldn't know a nickel from a dime (although I can tell the difference between a Nickelback and Dimebag Darrel)
Blame my ignorance on being English :(
