Yep - it's a resin job from Baueda with a 25mm hole (available from Magister in the UK) - several different versions too  ;)

Are they commercial or your own creations?

Out of interest where did you source the decals?

Star and serial number are from  1/56th Rubicon WW2 US vehicle sheet - PSC were selling them separately for a quid at Warfare the other weekend.

The load classification was kitbashed from 3 separate old Dom's Decals* ones I've had for years.

What colours did you use?

Sorry Paul, wasn't ignoring you; been working up at Battleground all day in the frozen north!

The green is a base of Vallejo Olive Drab to which Brown Violet and then Stone Grey is added.

Then it's an overall wash of an oil paint burnt umber and finally liberal slapping on of Mig weathering pigments

The .30 cal mount is pinned but the rifles were simply attached using the old trick of putting a tiny ball of milliput in between layers of CA glue .

Bloody good job, as I have said in a lot of other places  lol

I found the best way to do the guns was to glue them onto the turret ring before its on the vehicle. One gun at a time. Use blue tac or plasticine or whatever to support the muzzle at the height you want it. It take a bit of time but only for you to leave it alone for a while as the glue works. So half an hour of which most of that time is spent doing something else.

Cheers, Paul

I guess that's mostly my fault...     I couldn't think of a better way... sorry!

I tried making the turret in one piece but the print process meant the guns end up massively toe-in and it looked silly.  (got one sat on my desk looking at me squint)

Nowt to apologise for - had a LOT worse to assemble to slap paint on over the years (Westwind Hackney Cab I'm looking specifically at you) and don't remember swearing (more than usual) doing it!

I've left the turret separate  - easier to paint that way - but, I think, will glue it in place long term.

Outstanding work. And what rules are people using for 'Nam? I know there's a version of Chain of Command developed in Oz, but I have never tried it out.

That M48 looks just great, and I see Rubicon are doing a Centurion for the Aussies. It's going to be hard to resist...

And what rules are people using for 'Nam?

I've got FoF and the Vietnam supplement but am not exactly enamoured.
A lot of folks seem to be modding Bolt Action but, imo, the only way BA could be a worse game is if Chris Peers* had wrote it.

I suspect that if 'Nam is going to have long term gaming potential eather than be this year's trendy period it will need something completely new.... a bit like SAGA did for DA gaming.

That's going to 1/56th.... Empress certainly have got one coming in 1/50th that will fit with the otger vehicles already available.

* I'm 100% sure that Mr Peers is an absolutely spiffing chap and extremely knowledgeable.... I just loathe his rules with a vengeance!

No problem....

Uniforms: Vallejo MC Olive Drab with VMC Reflective Green and VMC Stone Grey added in for highlights

Flak Jackets: VMC Olive Yellow with Vallejo PA British Tanker and VMC Stone Grey added in for highlights

Bandoliers: VPA US Tanker and VPA US Tanker Highlight

Webbing: VMC Olive Drab with VMC Russian Uniform and VMC Stone Grey added for highlights

Helmet base: VPA Italian Tanker and VPA Italian Tanker Highlight

Helmet Camo: VMC German Camo Dark Green, VPA Splinter Green, VPA Slinter Brown

Think that covers the main bits.... basically lots of different olive greens with stone grey added to tie them together

Lovely work! I've seen them used as MENA insurgents/milita with sculpted enclosed shoes. They're too big against other NVA/VC ranges, but they work nicely against lots of other 28mm ultra-moderns.

I have to agree, I bought all the Gringo's bareheaded NVA as enforcers for my not-Roanapur setting (more organised than the general rabble, but not as organised - and effective - as Hotel Moscow).

@UVS yep, for tracking casualties iirc. I built frames (from Pendraken) into the bases so the die sits right.
