Anglian Panzer MkI AusfA

Nice paint job! Like the gray paint has come off in areas.
-
Wow!
Agree about the greys. Very good job
-
Beautiful work, Keith. You dirtied her up real good. No showroom tanks here!
A man after my own heart.
Well done! May I ask what company you got the vehicle from? I assume it's 28mm?

It's from Anglian miniatures. The kit is a lovely wee metal thing - quite tiny in the hand.
-
Keith, Thats a superb paintjob :D :D :-* :-*

Yep, that's a really well painted little tank :-*
-
Stunningly good job :-* :-* :-*
Awesome weathering, awesome all round.
-
Excellent! It looks dirty and rotten! Just great!
-
Any chance of a few tips on how you achieved that look? It's just blown me away how you've made what is a rather bland tank look so fantastic. I have some bland grey tanks to paint, and need all the help I can get! :)

Well - a good start is to put a little bit of blue into your grey mix (not much) and lighten it so that the colour is more 'to scale. Then very lightly wash everything with very very watery mixes of sand and buff colours - just to stain everything a bit. Lastly pick out all of the creases and panels etc. in a dark grey/brown (the red in the brown makes the grey look a deeper complimentary tone) mix. The last bit can be quite dark because it gives the vehicle it's shape back after all of the grey and washing.
Hope that helps?
-
Thanks, Keith. So you don't actually do highlighting via drybrushing or other methods? You go the other way and make the dark areas darker? Interesting. If I'm understanding you correctly I'll have to try that. Ta.
-
Yep. I sometimes do a very light drybrushing but generally avoid it. It always looks a bit like drybrushing to me :)
You can highlight the edges of the armour in a lighter tone of the grey for sure - but maybe best done in a controlled way with very thin paint.

Cheers, mate.

Very nice !
I have a side question: a couple of threads ago Lt Hazel has placed a very nice tank named a SCW Foreign Legion tank.
What is the difference between a Foreign Legion and nationalist designation?

Nothing really , they are both on the same side.
The Legion tanks were brigaded together into tank units, but still part of the Foreign legion.
Nationalist is a title given to Franco's lot, and covers everything on that side from the Foreign Legion, The Carlists,The Falange and the Ejercito Nacional.
Both of the painted tanks are marked up as Foreign legion vehicles, the obvious differences are the colour schemes, and the vehicle models (one is an Ausf A, the other an Ausf B)
Its a bloody nice paintjob though, the best one I've seen so far on the Anglian model.
Still think this is the best vehicle I've mastered so far, closely followed by the Cv3 tankette.

I thought so.

I second that

The CV35 is just plain beautiful - the excellent crew really add a little something extra. I've one chasing a T-26 to completion at the moment.

Very impressive paintjob and really different !
thanks for the recipe.

Lovely model and an excellent paintjob!
Really hope I can get my PzKfw's anywhere near this level.
I was told that an equally good metal 'B' model will be available in the near future. Hurrah!
