My little foray into Badgers and Burrows. Three little buildings and a well from a Tabletop World.

fabulous.
'badgers chuff' ... lol
-
Very nice, great looking board, those buildings look the part as well. :)
-
Nice work, which gaming mat is that? Deepcut?
-
They are lovely buildings! That makes a great looking table. :-*
-
Cheers guys. Yes mat is Deepcut 4x4 muddy fields - perfect for Northymbra me thinks.
-
Lovely buildings. It's a hugely tempting sub-genre to get into. Do you have many of the Oathsworn figures?
-
About a dozen or so. I’m waiting on the next Kickstarter release as there are a few nice ones coming up. Lots of fun to paint, easy pick up to play and it seems many are getting their girlfriends and wives into it.....go figure!
-
Lovely :-*

I didn't know about that. I'll have to look it up.

I didn't know about that. I'll have to look it up.
So weak lol
-
Purely research!
-
A nice a looking table .I must say it's its nice to see the full hay stack set painted. As alot of people don't bother with the dung heap.(I haven't painted it either mine's still a royal blue resin lump.)
-
Played two games this weekend. Spent half the first one with a few figures toe to.....crap, searching it for contraband!
Not actually happy...won both but as a consequence, I four four times on slave trader on the wandering chart post games, and practically double my band.....now I have to get painting ! Pah!
-
I'm amazed how often that Slave Trader result happens... it's only a 1 in 20 chance, but seems to come up all the time!
-
Digits, thanks. I'd looked at the muddy field numerous times, and it's nice seeing it "in the flesh". Great set-up.
-
No worries fella. I think it’s perfect for this game.
Michael....biggest problem was I don’t have the pennies to kit them all out properly. I rolled four times on the wandering table in the last game and rolled it three times! I had already gained a medium at the end of the previous game.
Most upset though......having put your Kickstarter back until the end of the month, I have to take from what reserves I have 😢
Seriously though chaps, if you haven’t tried it yet, go play a game, super fun!
-
Any chance of starting up a thread on the upcoming kickstarter? I'm not on Facebook so it would be a useful info thread.
-
I'll start one sometime this week, after I've confirmed with the mouldmaker that everything will cast OK... I just want to be sure! :)
-
Excellent!

Former kingsman and law enforcer, Sandy “Sand” Castle’s world came apart when his wife and cubs were slaughtered by a notorious rogue fox family after witnessing the murder of the district sheriff. Castle himself was left for dead trying to defend them.
Recovering from his injuries, he went on to exact his revenge on the rogues, attacking them in a most vicious and brutal manner.
Now, in his blackened armour, with he the few creatures he allows to travel with him, take on rogues and disruptive elements, often employing the same underhand methods, terror tactics, traps and poisons for which the criminals are themselves known.
Now, he goes by another name.....
“The Punisher!”

The start of my next warband....
-
He looks great! The dark armour works well.
-
Well, a little painting to make up the newly earned characters, and whilst at it, create a few for a new warband to build around the Punisher.
Only ever attempted colour reflection once before without any real success, though I’m quite pleased with this one on the otter mage.
The Badgers best mate, a shrewzerker in hot pants!
So, and I have a Sparrowhawk to paint, my warband as it currently stands, the marmot having finally made it in and having his pauldron painted to match this military order. The little brown mouse is another new addition.
And the start of my second warband

-
Looking really good.
-
Cheers fella, to be fair these are some of the easiest minis to paint, they are so well detailed and devoid of flash.
-
So I’m having my first game today with my new war band, should be fun.
Meanwhile, I’m waiting “patiently” for the new Kickstarter to arrive having gone all in. It’s just a shame I have to wait sooooooooo long to get my hands on them!
-
Good luck with the new warband - I hope the game goes well! :)
As for the KS, we'll get it shipped as soon as possible; we want it done too! Because I have lots more stuff planned... ;)
-
Those are some great paint jobs! Good work :)
-
Excellent miniatures and painting. Love the punisher! Is the game set in an alternate Northumbria?
-
Yes, Martha’s Kitchen!
Tonight’s game played over Pippa Pinkpaw’s Perfectly Palatable Pumpkin Patch!

As long as you make me a Shrike assassin....kinda assassins creed looking, you take as much time as you like! Lol
-
Well......that was a brutal short life for the punisher! Coming up against another badger with feint.......one hit, instant death! The rest didn’t do well either!
First defeat...a bitter one :-[ :'( :'(
-
.....one hit, instant death!
That must've been quite a hit! :o
-
Great looking board
8)
-
Cheers. Having decided Pippa’s farm will feature a lot in future games, I needed to paint the pumpkin patch properly.

Lovely field, where did you get the pumpkins from please?
-
Simply Putkha seeds painted orange. You can buy them at hobbycraft.
-
I also picked up these little ceramic roses, which painted green make great cabbages or lettuces!
-
Some great ideas and great painting.
-
Found this at a garden centre. Part of their fairy range. Not bad for £6. Perfect scale.
-
Great finds for the gardens!
I also really like your trees and bushes .... what's your process on those?
You've got a keen eye for things that grow.
-
Tbh they were bought years ago at a Wargames show however, easy enough to make. Twigs set in tetrion terrain base with rubberised horse hair / quoir (such as that you find in hanging baskets) glued to form foliage, painted, sprayed with adhesive and dipped in flock.....or you can just buy them at a show! Actually I’ve seen them on line too.
Cheers

Sweet set up

Beautiful table. What mat is being used here?
-
Cheers... Deep Cut 4 x 4 muddy field. I think it works well.
-
Postman has handed me my kickstarter package from Oathsworn today....beautiful figures!
Good job my mojo is starting to flow once more!
-
I'm glad they've arrived safely - have fun with them! :)

Cheers Michael!

-
Nice work.
Does the figure come with all the mushrooms?
-
No I added those (Kromlech)
-
That's an excellent paintjob.
-
Cheers fella. To be honest these minis are a joy to paint. I much prefer to paint these than regular human minis!
-
They are beautiful figures. They're probably one of my most favourite ranges to paint too (though not as well as you!).
-
A common sight in the fields of Northymbra …a flock of grubs!
Grubs from Midlam miniatures.

Lovely birthday gift, a few sets of Kromlech Dark Forest Haystacks. I look forward to painting these…..I think they will suit the B&B vibe very nicely.

I also received quite a haul of additional minis. Will be doing the odd one every now and again….
-
Absolutely agree with you on the aesthetic of those haystacks. Looking forward to seeing them painted.

-
They look great
-
Thank you kindly!
-
Great painting on some lovely figures. The diorama is also very nicely done - just needs a backdrop of some sort to complete the effect.
-
Open to suggestions. Does anyone have a source for 4 feet of woodland backdrop?
-
David, Dave (of Bedworth) took a picture of some local scenery & got a poster shop
to enlarge it. It now provides a very nice backdrop to his table. Just a thought.
failing that have a look at Model Railways & their backgrounds. Bound to be some tree ones.
-
Very cool little warband.
-
Really nice, painiting, especially the last warband.
Nice little hamlet too, (badger's chuff titter titter lol)
-
Nice to see some Burrows and badgers !
I love the way you kept brownish and greenish colors to link them to the environement.
-
Cheers. Yes the Kindred are guardians of the forest so I suppose the colour pallet is pre ordained. Plus I wanted a “Robin Hood” vibe.
Thanks all.
-
Plus I wanted a “Robin Hood” vibe.
Been watching the Disney animated Robin Hood have you David? lol
-
I keep looking at B&B figures, just wish I could paint fur
-
Been watching the Disney animated Robin Hood have you David? lol
It was the very first Disney film I was taken to as a kid ( I rember the cinema in Canterbury) so it must have struck a chord!
Kikuchiyo - a small dry brush is your friend….
-
So I have a small demo game to put on this weekend.
The third warband is complete with its leader, Horace the Hare.

Horace is the twisted and vindictive brother of Hartley, Captain of my Royalist patrol.
Jealous of his more famous and courageous sibling, whatever exploits Hartley and his followers are lauded for, Horace is always keen to upstage them in a more violent and shocking manner.
When Hartley lost his eye fighting to defend Clapham pass, Horace was so outraged at the the thought of this heaping yet more praise on his oh so brilliant brother, that he gouged out his own eye with a dinner fork just to show his dining companions that it was a mere trifle! However he now he now resents Hartley even more for having forced his hand…

-
Always a pleasure to see Burrows and Badgers figures especially when they look so good.
-
Cheers fella! 😉
-
Will be playing a few games next week with my son. “Yes, I’d like to play Kindred, but can I please have a badger?”
Oh well…a break from painting Crusading minis for a minor excursion.
One badger ranger for his kindred.

And an updated family picture of the Kindred

A couple of last minute mice. Not quite so confident painting the smaller critters.

Lovely paintjobs on great figures.
-
Lovely paintjobs on great figures.
Aren't they just.
-
Thanks guys.
Yes luckily these minis almost paint themselves. Lovely crisp detailing.
-
The mice look great, too!
Mike Demana
-
Great looking Badger. That is a nice warband you have brought together.
-
Proper Robin Hood band there. Love it.
-
Cheers. Yup Tuck and Marian, Robyn and Little John being the obvious minis…😉
Any they just handed my Royalists a right pummelling. No wonder our lad wanted me to paint the badger. Give it a war bow and a few bodkin arrows and it just bettered me! lol
-
Decided I need a new gang….pirates. I have ordered the few options available…but feel I need a tad more choice.
First up…I converted the shinty star mini into a marooned fellow I call “ Ben Gunther”
