Lead Painter's League 3 - the photos
Hey lads,
So the LPL is finally done. On the one hand I'm very happy as it was a murdering pace and ten weeks was long. On the other hand it's a shame the Monday won't be the same for a while again. Best moment of the week to see so many new entries.
But now it's over I can finally show all detailed shots. I had some problems with the 800x800 sizes and had to cut some corners to get the results. Last Saturday I made a lot of photos of my entries. Although the painting itself involves a lot less layers and blending than what I usually do, I'm very happy with the results.
Enough talking, the photos!

Some great figures there :-* :-*
It was a real struggle getting the figures into a 800 x 800 photo. It was my biggest problem of the whole LPL.
Your big beast is stunning but in your LPL photo you struggle to see it. You also see some great details on your figures that are missed in the LPL photos. But thats the rules and I don't see them getting changed :'(
Thanks for posting the pictures :-*
Hopefully other people will follow suit and we can relive the LPL in greater detail ;)

The cultists from Round 1 - who makes those?
Some great paint jobs all round.

The four hooded ones are by Pulp Figures:

The cultist with knife is available from Hasslefree Miniatures:

You had very nice entries Sie.

Excellent work on all of it! It's nice to see it all themed up in one thread.
-
All great entries but I especially liked your round 10, the sea monster and the south sea islanders were fantastic 8)
-
I liked your Sands of Time entry the best, although your Round 10 entry was nothing to scoff at either.
-
They're all beautiful! Absolutely Fantastic, where did the models for round 6 come from??
Cheers

Malebolgia, that's quite a collection you amassed there. Some lovely work. I particularly liked the mummies and the South Sea Islanders. Thanks :)
-
Ta! You thanks for all the work involved. It's a mad man's job and I think you've outdone yourself.
@oldskoolrebel: They are "Skorne Praetorian Ferox Riders" from the Hordes game:

I absolutely love your round 7 entry, especially the way you've done the bases so they're actually in the water...
where were those minis from, btw?
-
Hello.
These are the best deep ones i have ever seen. Same question as above: Where do the minis come from? I have seen them before.
-
realy like what you do with the hands of the deepones also the The Sands of Time stuff is fantastic.
keep on the good work

i found my answers for the deep ones: wyrd miniatures.
They are really good miniatures. I saw your website too, it is cool, i like the gallery.
-
So, you appear to have a passing interest in Cthulhu/horror gaming, but what do you really like ;) lol
I hadn't realised so many of your entries had been in this genre.
All of them are well worth seeing again, so thanks for posting :D

Jup, Wyrd's Silurid Slaves make excellent Deep Ones. Paul Muller just is one of the best sculptors around for these type of sculpts.
I'm getting a bit annoyed by my website. Somehow the banners get all screwed up and they don't show up well on this 19" monitor I've got here. Annoying as hell :(

Some of my favorite entries of this year's LPL, Malebolgia! Great work, very inspiring. 8)

I also posted some close-ups from Round 10 in LPL Season 3:

:D No thread-jacking here...

Very nice. I love the lighting effects on the idol in the first entry. I assume many of these will find their way into a Strange Aeons game.
