Title: Source of wargame Father Christmas, Santa Claus, Disney Princess figures
Post by: dadlamassu on November 20, 2019, 11:37:00 AM
I always run a Christmas themed game for the grandchildren in December.  This year I am a bit late in getting it ready.  While looking for inspiration for a fantasy game I thought that Frostgrave might be a good starting point as we have played a few games.  So I need 4 themed parties led by Christmas characters and at least one led by or including a "not=Disney" Princess.

Found these but cannot identify them
(https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YPp6qNNaVbA/V1cw_QSuOAI/AAAAAAAAIf0/3xib4NSxKw0PWmO75XOcpSGG-8cWqN4PwCLcB/s1600/IMG_7375.jpg)

I have the Copplestone (unarmed) Santa and I have seen a couple in the Frostgrave range.  So recommendations for other and especially the "non-Disney" Princesses are most welcome.

Thanks

Depending on which princess you have in mind, I've used these figures from Brigade Games:

For a not-Frozen Frostgrave warband

Think NorthStar & HassleFree do 'Not-Frozen' characters. Can't recall seeing any others :-/

Foundry, Artizan and North Star usually do Santa types of varying sorts... but usually not until December. Copplestone does/did killer snowmen.

I recently saw some cool conversions of GW night goblins into gnomes (by adding facial hair) - they'd also make good Christmas Elves/dwarves.

You might be able to make a gang of Krampus('s) from assorted beastmen figures?

Killer B have been showing off some Black Powder Christmas characters.

Many thanks - now to track them down in UK.  Just missed the Hasslefree sale >:(

I have a fair collection unfortunately the thread was lost in the Photobucket money grab:

Reaper miniatures has a Cinderella:

Some of their other "princess" miniatures might be adaptable as well:

Thanks for all those suggestions.  Looks like the wallet will take a hit!  The one in my original post is a Reaper Christmas Special - Eve.

Still don't know who the "Santa" with the naughty & nice list is.

Reaper also do some santas - https://www.reapermini.com/search/Santa

That was a search on their uk store, so looks like they're in stock

There's an ancient thread I started that may be worth a look - http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=35819

As long as we're sourcing Disney figures: anyone have a lead on Frozen's Olaf by chance?

I once did a half-hearted attempt at sculpting him, but the result looked more like him sitting in front of a fire a tad too long, and I scrapped it pretty quickly... ::)

I saw a couple of official Disney figures in ASDA this morning that may be worth a look. They looked about 28mm tall, so oversized for scale, but probably okay with other 28mm figures. They seemed to be toppers on something (sorry, they just caught my eye in passing)

I was recommended to try a Disney Busy Book

All the figures are too big

So they now inhabit my Christmas train set up below the tree.

Have you checked out the Disney Kinder Eggs. They are close to the size you want. It just means you will probably need to eat a lot of bad milk chocolate or give that to your kids and then you have the figures you will need... eventually.  ;D
