Of course if you fancy a bit more olive drab, then you can, as photos show British forces in a mixture of khaki and JG.

If you fancy a dash more colour,  there's always the Argyll's in their glengarries.

I wish you luck and much patience, the chequered border on the glengarries is a pain in the arse to paint. That said, they are lovely sculpts. I only wish Kosta had done a few personalities. I’d love a Mad Mitch figure.

No problem...

Uniform is a base of Vallejo Panzer Aces (VPA) British Tanker with Vallejo Model Colour (VMC) Khaki Grey and VPA British Tanker Highlight added for highlights

Webbing is a base of a 50/50 mix of VMC British Uniform and VPA Canvas with VPA British Tanker Highlight  added

I have some of the figures & Vodkafan is preparing old
Dinky toy vehicles for me, but I haven't been brave
enough to start painting them. Looking forward to
seeing the A & S. Especially the Glengaries.

My Regiment were in Aden in 1964 on Centurions plus Chieftains , yellow/sand and black colour.

16/5 Queens Royal Lancers? No Chieftains in Aden just Centurions. Black ‘n’ sand is how I painted my Cent and photos bear that out but....beware.

What appears in many b&w photos to be black camo on a sand base on Land Rovers, Ferrets and Saladins etc is more likely sand over Bronze Green. Plenty of colour photos show it to be so and you can still make out the shine of the BG paint which was a satin finish post war. Even some of the colour ones that look black are just showing the tonal change between bronze green, which is a very dark colour and sand. I have a couple of Saladins to repaint.
