Hi Everyone,
Finally sat down today and got this guy painted, the leader of the expedition:
He stands ready to explorer the ancient antarctic volcano, ready to uncover ancient mysteries.... and ancient dangers!

I would appreciate any feedback... I'll hopefully have the rest of the expedition (including the armed members, and the dog) done by the end of the week!
thanks!

Nice work. I like the scruffy outdoors look you created on the figure. Makes it more realistic as many people don't shave in order to prevent frostbite on their cheeks. The shading looks good, but a few more areas of highlighting would help as would a dull coat. The figure looks a bit shiny unless it is the lighting. Overall, though you have a nice looking figure that will sit well on many game tables. Thanks for sharing.
Regards,

I actually like the way you painted the coat. It has a grimy and used quality. Very convincing looking.

Good job, very nice figure.
The face is really good the only thing missing are the eyes.

Thats pretty awesome actually. Is it from the Miskatonic explorers set?

Thanks for the encouragement guys!
I'll have to hit it with matte varnish when I get home tonight, hopefully i'll be able to complete another figure and post pictures of that too!

Nice mini - the leather effect is spot on, and you've pulled a lot of character from the face. Looking forward to seeing more of these guys!

he reminds me of MikeD from the Beastie Boys for some reason...nice paintjob as well!

Awesome figure! Great look of the off beaten track you have going. No worries on the eyes....took me fooorever to start doing them decently, and its hit and miss still.
The shiny gleam to the figure? I have that problem too, even with the Matte Varnish.

It's the paint and/or washes. Personally I have no problem with this slight shininess, unless it's supposed to be really cruddy, rusty, dirty, etc. Shimmering iron oxide is the last thing I'd like to see. :o
That's quite the lip he has!

That rope looks perfect. Nice job!
