I’m planning on getting a couple of these models.
It appears as though the kit comes with a pintle Bren gun?
If so, can it be built with one of the crew manning said gun?
Can anyone confirm this please
Thanks

Oh!
And did the 30cwt version just have longer chassis, thus greater carrying capacity?
I’m going to use them for Bolt Action, but I’m a little confused as in BA there is only an option to add the MMG to 30cwt version?
Non of this is a big issue, just lockdown humdrum questions lol

The CMP (Canadian Military Pattern) series of trucks came in 15cwt, 30cwt and 3 ton versions and apart from length were externally similar as the cabs were also built to a standard series of patterns with a wide range of bodies (GS, Box, ambulance, water tank etc). The Bren could be fitted on a pintle or just propped on the cab roof on its bipod. Some 30cwt, in the desert, were used by the LRDG and had pintle mounted MMG (usually Vickers) and many other weapons in the load deck and on the cab front.
You can, of course, give the 30cwt a pintle mounted 5cm Pak 38!

Here’s my one...
So I’d say the answer to your original question is yes, Tim.
I didn’t use the Bren, and adapted the standing crew figure with Perry arms, as you can see.
But yes, I’m sure you can have him operating the Bren from the cab roof.
(That is indeed the intention according to the assembly instructions here: http://forum.rubiconmodels.com/index.php?topic=654.0)

Many more pics of my take on this model in my Western Desert LAF gallery :)

Are the bits scattered around the results of firing the first round?
If you want a 30cwt, you would be better off with Rubicon's Chevy 30cwt.

I’m beginning to think I need the 30cwt!
I want the MMG pintle.
I forgot to look at the US trucks from Rubicon!
Thanks for the chit chat boys.
I’m considering one of the Market Garden lists from the BA supplement.
I’ve got 2 X Sherman’s I can use and around 30 infantry, just need the transports now.
Would the Rubicon Chevy 30cwt be suitable?
It appears to more aimed at North Africa

The 30cwt Chevy was bought especially for the LRDG, I doubt they served outside North Africa.
Apparently the 30cwt CMP was used later in the desert.
You might want to wait for this:

Awesome! I love it when people find ways to use softskins in their games. It's one of those things that makes the game seem more real.
A friend did an urban layout which we started using right before the shutdown and he added just a few streetlights and it made all the difference....

Ah! Erm.... perfect.
So that was July last year, I wonder what the release date is?
I suppose this virus has affected this too :?
Glad I started this thread though.
At least I’ve got something to save up for now.
Great input, cheers.
