Unable to attend Partizan this weekend chum and fellow LAFer James Morris has written a guest blog post about the Silmarillion game he was planning to stage.
All shared online as part of the #PartizanInTheCloud event

Thank you! It wasn’t the same as Partizan but was a great experience.
The elf tower is a scratch build from foam with some MDF parts.

A nice game indeed. In the linked blog images, the elf hero on steed (the one that charges a werewolf) looks quite good with all the detailing on the shield and cloak!

Excellent set up guys. I saw the pics on Tom's blog yesterday and followed the link to watch the video by James and his glamorous assistant. lol Lovely painting as always. Your quick and slapdash is better than my careful. That tower is a very elegant idea. I like how it can be repurposed so easily.
Totally agree wwith you about how researching Tolkien is like researching history. Middle Earth is so detailed there is often more to find than on real historical periods. I listened to a lecture series on Fiction a while back that argued that besides the terrifiuc detail it is the multiple and somehwat inconsistant versions of the story, with reference to lost accounts or sources, that gives it the added verisimilitude.
Looking forward to seeing the rules. I don't do facebook but may have to find the group you talked of too.

Cheers everyone! The mounted hero (Gwindor of Nargothrond)was fun to paint. He’s not amazing close up but there’s just enough squiggles to create the right effect.

Cheers trev. I’m really glad you enjoyed it and that we have similar thoughts. That’s a great point about the inconsistencies actually adding to the historical feel of Middle Earth.
When I have any news on the rules I’ll post it up here. Lots of discussion is on Facebook at the moment but I do try to cross post to LAF.

The Partizan in the Cloud videocast was great. Very informative and just as importantly a lot of fun. 8)
Tom's pics on his blog are ace too 8)

Not my pics - all James' work.
I am merely the host vessel.

I'll have to sign up to FB with a cunning fake name to have a read. ;)

If it’s as cunning as Baldrick, I may have spotted it. Welcome! Membership seems to have gone up since the weekend.

I think may have just possibly seen through my clever disguise. :D There is tons of good stuff on there. I really like Jake Hallam's Orc conversions. Very Angus McBride. I'm going to have to try copying those.

Cool miniatures, very much like the conversions and paintjob. The scenery looks very good too!

Thank you! I’d really like to get it to a wargames show in the future.

Yes, it’s a fertile ground of kit bashing in there in the quest for the perfect Tolkien minis! I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
