Title: More vehicles for 15mm modern/scifi
Post by: zrunelord on 19 May 2020, 11:13:56 AM
Hello again
Here are some more vehicles.
Matchbox 1/64th diecasts
Matchbox 1/76th kits
Chinese make scale unknown diecasts.

As you can see all are great for 15mm moderns/scifi with little if any modification .Obviously you can convert them using plastuc sprue, card and pvc sheet.

As one can see the new GZG gunners really shine. I really like them and have a lot of plans for them.
Apocalypse now?!!

Just imagine a 50 ton truck hurtling at speed with
3 or more hmg's blasting. Zombie crushing time.

Thanks for your comments.

Some great looking vehicles, they would work great in both Sci-Fi and Post Apocalyptic worlds as well.

Thanks both for liking them,
The new one is finished.  vidcaster or command vehicle.... the transmitters/radar hex pattern was made by using the bottom of a brand new slipper  :D :D :D  to make a press mould. I know , I know , I'm loco.. ;)

All I need is a film crew now.  Khurasan & Ion Age both have a nice set.

Thanks for your comments.

Title: Re: More vehicles for 15mm modern/scifi

From certain angles it has a very Winnebago look to it. Screw the film crew, you need a 15mm Randy Quaid in a bathrobe and bomber hat drinking a beer! lol

“Don't you go falling in love with it, now, because we're taking it with us when we leave here next month.”

Thanks all,
Glad you like them.
WM, Actually I bought a slipper ( we call them slippers, aka sports shoes ) for my son and I happened ( ahem ;) ) to look at the sole and obviously the best time to make a press mould is when they're new  :D :D :D.

Cook , you could make a family of alien critters , like my 3 eyed Mcgraw.

You should dry brush that red vehicle with a tiny amount of orange.  All that detail needs to be shown off, Bro.

Well done!

The biggest mistake some people make when trying to drybrush highlights on a red model is to use pinks, or gradually add white, which only makes it chalky.  Orange is better, but check out the other suggestions here for a red model:

That's a blast from the past Dan.
Off course you should , you can easily make them biped, triped or quadruped or even more .. the feet could be readily stuck pieces of card on the base ( no need to fuss sticking them to the
wire , just drill a hole in them & glue wire )

1mm drill bit + paper clip wire bent to desire shape ( you can also make a jig out of nail & wood so as to have a consistent bend )

Bend them into long Zee like shapes ( chicken legs )  or whatever tickles your fancy.

Welcome Dan,
You definitely should.
You can also use thin hair pins ( the black ones) to add
to the paperclip thickness / shape. You can affix them with wound thin
Copper wire ( e.g. from an opened 4mm cooker type wire ).
Then a small drop of CA. Different sizes of lead free solder wire can also be used.

Indeed it is doodler, just keep in mind that doing them in 18mm is way smaller but do able ( look up my scratchbuilt ork meks on my blog).

I do like robots, android and two-legged combat walker whether manned or AI. I have aways liked the idea of a companion Combat Robot/Android teamed up with a human soldier. As in the Hunter II and Exterminator series in Eerie magazine.

Yes definitely Dan. You should look up the superb Titanfall pc game. I tried it but it's too fast for me to play  :( ... must be getting old  ;) & rusty.

I have done several posts along those lines. Just search for Mechs/mecha on my blog.

This is issue #73. There are earlier issues of Hunter II and Exterminator. They both had their own separate stories before linking up with each other then there was a few more issues of them working together.

Eerie published a complete story issue of Hunter https://readcomiconline.li/Comic/Eerie-Presents-Hunter/TPB-Part-1?id=143935 (https://readcomiconline.li/Comic/Eerie-Presents-Hunter/TPB-Part-1?id=143935)

Enjoy reading.

Awesome cover art.  I wonder what other Sci Fi or Fantasy that artist has done.

I used to be a great fan back in the day of Creepy, Eerie, Vamparella, Conan, Creep Show, Tales from the Crypt and Heavy Metal. I used to have a very large collection of each title a large collection.
When I join the military, I packed a lot of it all of that away in boxes to save, I had a lot more collectables as well too many to list. However, My mother never said anything about it or asked me if I still wanted all of my boxes or what, before her and my stepfather went rifling through them all and sold most everything for under a dollar for each item and tossed the rest. I manage to save one board game, Tactic II that my dad had given me, my Stepfather had it marked for a dollar. My mom saved it for she know my dad had given it to me. I had fleets of Monday Knights ships stepfather gave them to a friend of his who melted them down for his muzzle loader! Yeah it all still a sore spot over 40 years later.

Enough of that let the games play!!

A good addition would be Exterminator One, half man half robot actually he is more robot than Human
