Title: PMC's "Factory" upgraded (WWI - present day)
Post by: Geudens on 03 August 2009, 03:17:53 PM
Most of you will be familiar with Martyn's PMC models and some do have bought "the factory" (and so have I).

But,... being one of the "3rd type" of wargamers (the first type being those who buy unpainted models and paint'm, the second type those who buy prepainted stuff to use, the 3rd one those who buy prepainted models and repaint'm :D ) I've "upgraded" the factory a little.  This is the result:

I have washed the walls with the new Vallejo Pale Shade, then highlighted the bricks with GW Foundation oranje and painted (at random) a number of bricks in cream, dark brown and ochre.  Then washed again with Vallejo Pale Shade thinned with 50% water.

The roof has been washed with Vallejo Sepia Shade, then highlighted with GW Foundation orange and blobs of cream.  Strips of rivets are strengthening the chimney and are used as wall anchors and above the building's gate.  It look quite different now.

The little shed that is part of the factory has a flat backside, to which I've added some steel plating with a slit so it can be used as a guardhouse, not only at the factory's gate, but also to defend e.g. a crossroads or a bridge (manned with a Lewis gun and some infantry a tough nut to crack, no doubt).

Very nice paint job on the bricks, they're so difficult to get right.

PMC is a resin buildings manufacturer, offers his products via Ebau UK:
