One of the things I do with seated figures is glue them to large nails for ease of painting and I can stick them upright to dry in a block of styrofoam.
Looking into how 3mm stuff gets painted, I came across a tutorial on Pico Armor where the author sticks the little vehicles onto nails using "rope caulk". I'm wondering why you would choose to use rope caulk over something like Blue Tac. Pretty much the same thing isn't it?

Never heard of it before - at least by that name - so googled it. I don't think it similar to blue-tac which I have used from the description I just saw. But, again, have never touched rope caulk. Does sound like a versatile material so might check it out next time I'm in a hardware store.

I was thinking the same thing.
