Title: Warzone Bag of 80 minis

Hey I'm just curious, has anyone ever bought the 80 pack?
What is it like? Good quality?
Is it worth it? It looks like its worth the price.

If anyone has any pics of them on baresprue or painted I would LOVE it!

No pictures but I have had about 3 bags of those figures (bought them back in my Warzone days when I was doing a MASSIVE Imperial army). I think I am down to only one bag now as I have sold off most of the rest.

The figures are decent. They are made of hard plastic. I believe you get enough for 4 squads of two factions (Imperial Regulars and Bauhaus Hussars). Each squad has 8 troopers, 1 sgt. and 1 heavy weapon. You can do some limited posing as the arms are separate; I think I managed to get about 3 poses out of a figure before they start to look really silly. The figures are "slight" in appearance so may not look perfect next to chunkier figures.

I always thought the bag was a good value.

Yes used some of the Bauhaus for my wierd war stuff, used the backpacks on my pig iron and sold the imperial treachers

Not bad, simple sculpts clean and reasonably detailed.

Good value for money anyhow.

The models are indeed good quality but the poses get a bit dull after a while and because the plastic is rather hard they don't convert easily. Here are some poor piccies of some of my Bauhaus Ducal Militia (some minor conversions done):

I bought 2 bags when Prince August had a sale a few years ago.  I have a plan to use them for Weird WWII at some point.  Poses are limited, but they are generally nice looking figures. 

My only other comment is that the heads are small compared to figures from other companies, so they may look strange if you want to mix with other lines of figures.

I did find the hard plastic, well hard to work with. Glue wouldn't hold, neither would the primer. I think I have still most of 400 minis here somewhere. (Yes, the was an ebay-seller who packaged such huge lots (5 Bags à 80 minis).

You definitely need to use superglue on these guys.

And, IMHO, they're good value for the money. It's like to IG infantry armies! How can you go wrong?

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm thinking about using the bauhaus faction miniatures for some fallout stuff (Brotherhood of steel :)) and the Imperial guys for some zombie killing fun :)

The plastic is ABS plastic, rather than the Polystyrene usually seen in plastic kits.  It has a slightly harder consistency, but nothing that ever stopped me from cutting or sanding.  Tenax plastic model cement works just fine on it.  I wouldn't recommend superglue personally, I don't like it on plastic figures, the joins are too brittle.

I bought a bag from Ireland and even with the shipping here to the U.S they are a great value.  Mainly bought them to teach my kids to paint and we use them to play a Scifi-mod LotR game that I've been working on.

The instructions for the assembly of those figures states specifically that superglue is to be used and that poly cement wont work properly.  Make if that what you will.

I think that the figures are great value.  They look good and are a ripe source for components.  The 80 bag is well worth buying in my opinion.

I have a couple of photos of the guys that I have painted.  The paint jobs were quick and as they were intended to be Saturday morning cartoon type space cops they are pretty bright.  The guy below is assembled as directed.  The two here   (http://sho3box.wordpress.com/2009/05/03/kowalski-spd-officer/) and here   (http://sho3box.wordpress.com/2009/05/03/sanchex-spd-officer/) have had head swaps.

The heads supplied are maybe a tiny bit on the small side but nothing that severe in comparison with most figures I would think.  I swapped the heads to give them a slightly less WWI/WWII look, not because the heads were too small.

Longtime reader, new member/poster here.

I LOVE the Warzone plastics. I have about 120 Ducal Militia and 200 Imperial trenchers, and about half of each group are assembled and painted. The ABS plastic hasn't stopped me from doing conversions either, as I have especially used the Regulars bodies for numerous conversions. Once you get rid of the armor and harness, they make great "blanks" for doing with what you will.

In addition to conversions, I really love these figures in their basic form. True, they only have limited pose options out of the box, but I found I was still able to work up enough variations that my units don't look repetitive.

Yes, but there are plenty of manufacturers that offer seperate heads now:

TC they are SF3D Melusine Mak thingies. There was a big thread some time back when Hobbylink Japan were selling them off by the box. IIRC they are actually 1/35th pre-paints. I have a couple if you are really struggling.

shipping shouldn't be a problem, I sent stuff for 3 euro to sweden up to 500 gr

price? basically I want to get rid of them
but first I have to dig them out so no hurry please
what I know for sure is that officers and heavies are not there anymore cause I used them
as far as I recall, there must be some 40 + a number of primed others and maybe some imperial trenchers too

I think they mix really well with other figure ranges.

Also I used poly cement and even mixed up the bits with other companies models(I stuck the warzone backpack straight on the back of a GW flagellent.) NO superglue used at all, no problems with the plastic glue.

Speaking of the big bag of miniatures, are the heads of the officers separate or part of the body? From looking at them I've always thought that the Bauhaus sergeant would look better with the Imperial sergeant's head.

I did this

Heads are separate, and arms from the elbow. The weapons are cast with the arms.
Apart from the head, the officers are in one piece. the backpacks are separate with all.

Never had any issue with gluing then together personally, useful for lots of genres.
