I've done a few searches of late and included the author of the post and the subject matter and all I'm getting is redirected to Advanced Search.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problems?
-
I've just tested it (by searching subject "subject" and user "*Atheling") and it's working OK for me.
I don't if that helps any but it's some data anyway.

Ha! I did the same and it worked. However when I typed in Terrain Tiles and Atheling, to a specific sub fora, where I know I definitely made the post, I go straight to advanced again o_o o_o

Are you, perchance, talking about the Bazaar? Do remember that topics are pruned there regularly, i.e. any topic not replied to for more than a month gets removed on a monthly basis.

No. I'm looking for the 'making terrain tiles' post I put in General and it was moved to the Workbench.....

First result when I use the search form, putting "terrain tiles" as a search string and "atheling" as user, with all boards checked.
I would always suggest using the actual search form (accessed by clicking "search" in the navigation header row) over the direct entry field. More control in telling the function what it needs to search.

This function isn't working for me right now. Says to contact administrator to report the problem. :?

Yes, I've had this message three or four times in the last 18 hours or so (every time I've tried, in fact).

Sounds as if the table indexes need to be repaired. The error is a database error and that is usually the problem when the search function in SMF starts to not work correctly.
