Title: Game mat
Post by: gamer Mac on 24 August 2020, 06:04:38 PM
I am thing of getting a game mat
I was looking at cigar box mats but they only appear to be available in the US and I am not sure about delivery costs at this time. Does anybody know if they available in the UK?
Would anyone recommend an alternative?

North Star stock them. They seem very nice from the ones I've seen.

https://www.deepcutstudio.com/

Very quick to deliver, excellent variety - have got 4 of their mouse mat material gaming mats so far, and am very happy with all of them.

I have Deep Cut mouse pad mats too. Very nice, I’ve got no complaints.

Sadly Northstar have stopped stocking them and it seems replaced them with mats from GeekVillain. I only have the GV sea mat (so not a lot to talk about - it’s blue) but whilst cheaper than CBBM it is just a piece of fleece, there are no patterns or design; they have just relied on the texture of the fleece to look like water. It’s ok and will probably serve but I wouldn’t have bought it if I could still get Cigar Box mats easily (I have 2 x Grasslands and Arid land in plush. They are beautiful and really make my 15mm stuff shine). I’m probably going to save up and buy a couple of mats in one go from CBBM if I can’t find something closer to the quality or a sensible person in the U.K. that wants to stock them due to the justified and obvious demand for them.

Sorry that’s not much help,
BALM

I have a European one I want to sell, only used it about 6 times, I have now switched to my permanent tiles so it is excess. Send me a pm Mac.

Cheers
