Been wanting to try this for a while
Didn't realise how much dry brushing it would require

Lots of dry brushing later
What do you think?

Where's it from again?
-
I knew someone would ask that ???
it is an action figure one not sure what make
-
Just noticed underside has got Hasbro stamped on it
-
Looks good Colin, the dry brushing might have taken a while, but it's very effective. I ordered a U wing ages ago and when it arrived it was tiny. That one looks loads better.

Doesn't look like the same model.
Well done! :-*
-
That's a cracker 8)
-
Thats a great paint job! :-* Well worth the load of drybrushing!
Is it me or does it look better without the wings attached?

It is you ;D
but we could play a game where the rebels have to find and fix the wings before they can escape? :D

It is you ;D
He's right though lol

Is this the toy or the model kit? Either way, it's looking good.
-
It is a Hasbro toy
-
Well Colin, on the strength of this thread I stumbled across a Hasbro U wing on ebay and bought it. I should have realised from your photos but I totally underestimated just how sodding big it was. When it arrived wrapped up I thought I'd ordered a sledge.
-
lol
-
Nice work.
-
Great work, Collin. So you are still in Star Wars. Maybe next year a board for the BLAM???
-
It is rather big
It is a big bugger to paint as well

lol
Great looking model Colin, you’ve really nailed it with that paintjob
-
It's around 1:45 s far as I can make out. A bit to big for me but with the wings not there it looks more manageable.
Great paint job 8)
-
The paint job is looking great. Did you prime it first or just paint over the top?
-
Great looking ship.
You really should talk to Ebay about a commission, I've just bought one too...
I think I'll try my new clay washes on it and see if I can get away with not painting it.
1:45 sounds about right. I've read that a lot of legion players use it for terrain and its a tiny bit too big for their 1:47 models.
-
Now you've got a taste for larger models, if you can still find it there's a Hasbro Millennium Falcon that is approx 1/48. I bought one a few years ago but it's still sitting in the loft unpainted. My blog article at http://zemjw.blogspot.com/2015/02/hasbro-millennium-falcon.html has pictures.
The thought of doing the sort of drybrushing on it that you did on the u-wing makes me start to whimper o_o
-
Thanks guys
Steve I undercoated it black first
It took a lot of fry brushing I Have just about worn out my brushes
-
Cheers Colin. I'll do the same, as your version looks so much better.
