Title: 15mm VSF Submarine
Post by: Barry S on 12 August 2009, 02:07:09 PM
Hi All,

I just thought I'd share my latest addition to my VSF forces a Submarine.

It is by Flagship Games but I'm not sure these particular models are still available. I added the conning tower (a bottle lid) and the access door and should have filled in the small holes but I was eager to get it painted.

I have no idea how or when I'll get to use it. I also hope to have my 15mm Divers ready for action in the not too distant future. It's been a while since I've made or painted any additions but the GASLIGHT/VSF bug has once again bitten and I have a few items on the workbench.

All the best,

Barry

Thanks for the kind words Gents.

It was looking at Malamute's Nautilus for the umpteenth time which really drove me to get on with it. I still thinking of buying one of the PMC Games subs for my 15mm Nautilus adding a bit of plasticcard here and there.

gamer Mac I'll take your word for it :D I can't honestly remember what the bottle lid it is from. We were visiting the UK 5 or so years ago when I noticed this particular lid. I've never seen them here in this part of Australia so I saved a a few as I thought they may make good a pilot house for 15mm Ironclads/Landships. I also managed to pick up a rubber backed doormat on the same visit as they were hard to get around here as well at the time. I carried it around in my backpack whilst backpacking in the UK. I found it in Bangor (Wales) and knew if I didn't buy it then I would never see one again. My wife just shook her head and told me I was to carry it!! God knows what Customs must have thought. Thety probably didn't bother to ask after finding the rubber chicken...

richardDMB: They're great models and I have been looking at th others in the range as well but they are currently out of my price range. I managed to pick a box of these ones up on eBay.

Received an e-mail from Rod at Flagship Games today and he has confirmed these subs are available:

Mind you they look different to Barry S's.

He is a very poor photo of the sub in it's original form. These were sold 3 to a pack and were also called a Wolfpack.

They were once listed on the site but I believe these ones are now OOP. Personally I like the look of the ones still available but unfortunately they are currently beyond my budget  :'(

Cheers,

Barry
