Title: 7TV Pulp?
Post by: redstarnyc on 06 September 2020, 04:58:57 PM
I'm having trouble finding many reviews of this system.  I've seen playthroughs, but not reactions and reviews.  Any help from the hive mind?

I played it a few times and found it a very fun and cinematic game. Very characterful cards for the many figures you can play.

I have tried it and I am not a fan. It is a lovely looking game with some wonderful pictures but the rules felt clunky and poorly designed to me.

In my opinion the game focused too much on the collecting and spending of plot points. This had the effect of bogging down the game and ruined the experience for me. Resource allocation can be fun in some games but it felt very out of place in a skirmish game.

There is a comparison review on YouTube of 7TV Pulp vs Pulp Alley. Sorry I don't have the link handy. You can probably find it with a search.

One of the differences is that 7TV is from the perspective of the characters being actors in a movie or TV series. Pulp Alley takes the perpective of the characters being what they are.

Here is the video on YouTube that I was thinking about that compares 7TV Pulp and Pulp Alley:

Cry Havoc War Gaming also has a video about how to play 7TV Pulp.
