Title: Boat Burial
Post by: snitcythedog on 08 September 2020, 01:42:51 PM
I felt free to mix types of boat burials as this is for a fantasy setting.  Boat was simple card and matchsticks filled with bits.  Hill and stones were foam.  Along with my subpar painting skills made a mediocre build.  Hope you like.

I like it. I'd be very happy to have created that and have it on my table. Well done.

A cool idea and looks great! What scenario will you use it for? It looks fresh, could it be that some unscrupulous warriors have timed their attack to coincide with a funeral service attended by their enemies?!

Thanks for the comps all.

Did not have one in mind.  For the piece I figured I would make the burial obvious to remove any questions as to what it was.

That's a lovely idea. I particularly like that you mixed your references to come up with something plausible but unique.

I'll proffer a musing .( Because I know it'll be received in the manner it was offered)
Have you thought of adding a couple or three strategic planks across the burial pit it's self. It'll do several thing's . You'll increase the sense of depth, and of a burial in progress(or of one being robbed.) .
You'll also make it easier to play/place with in the stones.

Mark.

You could make a small dirt cap that matches the ground around it and sits over the boat, so that it can be used as slightly unusual hill terrain. even though the corpse is "fresh" I think we can let that go for the sake of terrain utility.

You could have a scenario where one side go to dig it up and another tries to stop them, be it a recent death or one long past.

This would make a great centrepiece for a Pulp scenario too. Excellent idea!
